There's no time to lose, THERE ARE RPGS TO PLAY!!!
CRank: 5Score: 81370

This game was totally Molyneuxed all to hell.

I'm just glad so many people were smart and waited for the reviews before rushing out and buying the next Bungie game. There are way too many stupid people out there who only buy games based on hype and it's ruining the industry for everybody.

This should send a strong signal to developers that unfinished and undercooked games are not worth our money.
Period.

I'm a huge Tolkein fan and I'm pretty hyped for Shadow of Mordor but only to keep me busy until Dragon Age Inquisition. Big, sprawling RPGs are just my type of game. If they could ever make a Tolkein game in the vein of Dragon Age, I'd be going out of my mind with hype. LotR: The Third Age and LotR: War in the North were terrible. Why can't we get a good LotR RPG?

To be honest, I'm shocked they managed to sell even 23,000 in Japan with no games geared toward the Japanese audience, mixed messages on Kinect and such a terrible last year in the news (openly anti-consumer policies, high price, etc.)

The fact that there are at least 23,000 Japanese people who are still willing to pay good money for this glittering jewel of colossal failure is something that the guys at Microsoft must be cheering about.

There were tons of violent games that made Mortal Kombat look tame back in 1991. Way more than this list mentions. What set MK apart from the pack was the digitized sprites. It looked like real people were getting their spines ripped out while screaming in agony.

But nobody mentioned these other games back during the congressional hearings because they just weren't very popular. I learned back then that career politicians (Jack Thompson, Leeland Yee, Hilary Clinton, etc....

Just popping in to say that gamer girls are awesome and are always welcome but feminazis suck sweaty ass and need to stay several million miles away from the gaming industry.

That is all.

lol, only a bunch of ignorant clickbait writers on Kotaku could think the PS3 is dead. There's lots of life left in it.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 REmix
SMT: Persona 5
Natural Doctrine
Fairy Fencer F
Tales of Zestiria
The Awakened Fate Ultimatum

and probably a lot of others still to come over the next 2 years. The PS3 is in it for the long haul. Nintendo consoles usually last a year after the new one releases. Only M$ dr...

Listening to these feminazi's trash gamers every day actually makes me nostalgic for the old days when we could laugh at Jack Thompson and his tirades against gaming.

You knew he didn't really believe all the crap he was saying but the controversy brought more sales and actually helped the industry. It was a win-win for everyone.

But there's no winning in this shitstorm the feminazis have brewed. We're all losers in this. The feminists look ...

Girl gamers are awesome.

Feminazi's suck.

It is NOT a horrible time to be a gamer. It is a DAMN FINE time to be a gamer.

I am PROUD as hell to call myself a gamer and some stupid feminazi that loves playing the "eternal victim" absolutely cannot make me feel bad about that.

Gaming now and Gaming forever. Feminazi's suck.

Another timed exclusive.

So I guess Rise of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition is coming to PC and PS4 in 2016.

Glad we got that cleared up.

I assume you are talking about emulation. The thing about emulation is that it's not always practical. Take Sega Saturn emulation for example. The Saturn has 8 separate processors and the intricate timing between them is making emulation impractical. You're better off buying a Saturn and mod chipping it.

All that is to say that emulation is not always the easy solution. Collecting is the only practical way to enjoy these awesome games.

Not to mentio...

Being the retrogamer I am, I proudly extend my middle finger to the author of this article.

,,l,,

Maybe in ten years when you want to play an obscure (but awesome) game like Suikoden, Lunar or Panzer Dragoon Saga and you realize that no one has it on a digital store and a physical copy will run you a fat wad of cash, maybe you'll look back at this defiant retrogamer currently flipping you the bird and realize that MAYBE I was right.

Personally, I'm very happy about the delay because Dragon Age 2 was released only 17 months after Dragon Age: Origins and look how that turned out...

Before the BF4 controversy, before the Sim City Controversy, before the Mass Effect 3 controversy, there was the Dragon Age 2 Controversy.

Reused environments, lots of backtracking, too much oversimplification, rushed development, lack of customization and a very unsatisfying story that ends on a huge cliffh...

Maybe I should have used the word "ridiculous" instead. I don't mind suspending my disbelief but the most a bunch of 16 year-olds ever get done is get high and/or wasted.

For some games like Chrono Trigger or Suikoden II it makes sense to have the lead protagonist very young but I'd much rather have been playing as Balthier in FFXII instead of that air head Vaan. And I know I'm not alone.

I love JRPGs to death and I agree with most of this list but there are a few issues that I find even more troublesome that the author of this piece did not address.

1. The extremely cliche "group of young teeny boppers save the world" plot. Being cliche is the least of the problems with this type of plot. Even more problematic is that it's completely unrealistic. Kids almost never get anything done. Ever. I'd say saving the world is firmly out of their capab...

If this crap keeps happening, Chun Li will not be able to fight Ryu in Street Fighter V and EVO will have to make a separate male and female character bracket.

LOL, no.

The worst games of all time were all the games released for the "R-Zone" console by Tiger electronics.

This is a crappy portable console entirely designed to play shitty games. And here's the kicker: it was created to be a knockoff of the the Virtual Boy. Who makes knockoffs of terrible consoles? Tiger does apparently... Anyo...

I wish Lost Odyssey came to the PS3 as well. On a purely physical level, I hate the packaging with 4 discs crammed in that case. It's practically begging to be scratched to death.

But I also know that Mistwalker had no choice in the matter. They were just starting their new studio and needed funds. They went to the big publishers and offered an exclusivity deal for money. Microsoft signed the contract for two games and Mistwalker had to abide by the terms. And so Blue Dr...

My opinion on these three games:

Guardian's crusade is practically unknown and being published by Activision and with a mobyscore of 67, it's probably going to stay that way. I've never played it so I can't say how good it is but I do know it is doomed to obscurity.

Skies of Arcadia is a masterpiece. I recently picked up the GameCube version and played it on my Wii. Sega NEEDS to port this game to more consoles ASAP. Far too many RPG fans have...
