I still don't see much worth buying on the next gen consoles. We still got a bunch of big PS3 RPGs coming like Persona 5, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix, Tales of Zestiria, The Awakened Fate Ultimatum and I hear the recently released Tears to Tiara II is a good SRPG.
Maybe I'll pick up a PS4 next spring when Bloodborne and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD come out. And I'll be getting a Wii U when either Fire Emblem X SMT or Xenoblad...

SRPGs are now my favorite genre in gaming.
I was introduced to it with Shining Force,
Fell in love with it with Final Fantasy Tactics,
And became full blown addicted to it with Fire Emblem.
And now ultimately with Valkyria Chronicles and XCOM: Enemy Unknown, I am defined by it as a gamer.
Can't wait for Massive Chalice and Code Name: STEAM!
It's going to be an ugly and dark place in gamerland until Anita Sarkeesian, Zoe Quinn and the rest of the vile feminazis and journolists finally admit defeat and apologize to gamers for attacking us to deflect criticism from their own lying, corrupt dealings.
I can see it's gonna be a long fight, but I'm gonna pound home the truth at every opportunity. As gamers, we are better equipped than most to fight these SJWhiners and we don't retreat.

Some games really do deserve a perfect 10. Some really didn't...
Games like Half-Life 2, The Last of Us, Red Dead Redemption, TES V: Skyrim, Mario Galaxy 1&2 and most of the Zelda's are totally worthy of a perfect 10. They are genre defining experiences of the highest order.

You're gonna love Suikoden V.
It's like a "greatest hits" version of the Suikoden series. It plays a lot like Suikoden I and II for the most part with the camera angles trying to recreate the classic look of the original games. I recently played through the whole series and for the most part, I loved them. Konami is retarded for not putting these on PSN (only the first made it). We NEED a Suikoden VI ASAP. I consider these games to be among the best JRPGs ever made and this is how I'd rank them.
1ST - Suikoden II
Best story and some of the best 2D sprites in gaming history. The dark, "game of thrones" style tone and Shakespearean plot make this a masterpiece among RPGs...

Bioshock Infinite was disappointing.
GTA IV was a big FU to the fan base.
FFXIII (the whole trilogy) was a disaster that SquareEnix is still trying to recover from.
Mass Effect 3 should have been and needed to be so much more.
I liked Batman: Arkham City but I can see where the author is coming from.
Watch Dogs had all the personality of a dead fish.
Killzone 2 was fun but not much different...

Any sane publisher would have put the entire Suikoden series on PSN YEARS AGO.
The fact that 8 years after PSN debuted, we are still waiting for Konami to make it happen, suggests a level of incompetence not seen since Atari's fall. And like Atari's fate, we will have to wait till they are bought out and new management makes sure the back catalog is making money. No amount of facebook posts is going to solve this problem.

In a year with massive disappointments like Titanfall, Watchdogs and The Sims 4, I didn't think Bungie would be the one to take the "most disappointing" prize.
But here we are.
I'm really hoping that Wasteland 2, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Dragon Age Inquisition and Far Cry 4 pull us out of this funk or 2014 will be remembered as the year of epic disappointments.
I really hope this leads to Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 getting ported to PC. And possibly Skies of Arcadia. I'm voting with my dollars and telling Sega I want more of this. It's only $18 on Steam right now.
I already own the PS3 version but strategy RPGs are my favorite genre of game and there are so few of those being made. I'll do anything I can to get more of these on PC.
