Seriously though... we are the point where even discussing Edge is pointless. They 100% lost any credibility they had left when they put up the 7/10 for Killzone 2. They aren't going to come out to the public and make a formal apology, fire the guy who wrote it, and re-do the review to say 9/10. Heck if they did that, then the whole internet as we know it would explode.

Why so there can be some other excuse when Gears 3 hits why the MP is broken for the third time? I can see it now Cliffy B interviewd,"Well this time around we had a harder time with the game because we had to make it for PS3 as well which let more glitches in, and made it hard for us to fix the old glitches."
Let it stay on 360. Maybe hire someone else to be lead game designer, THEN I'd want it multiplatform. I loved Gears 1 so much, but Gears 2 is a slap in the face...
I played Gears of War 1 for about 7 months straight day in and day out. I was so anticipating Gears 2 from the moment Cliffy announced it on that stage with his giant lancer. When the game came here's how I saw it and feel free to argue your point.
You gave us a decent single player. Equal to Gears 1. My main beef with the story was how Tai died. They managed to break his will in a matter of Marcus going underground, and finding him almost moments later. In no point in the game...
We are at the point where we are actually analyzing what you write in your reviews "journalists." More and more people are not just looking at the # you throw at the game, but what you had to say about it in detail.
If what you say about a game is of high praise, but your score is contrary to what you stated, then something got lost in translation. You need to think of expalining in high detail why it gets that 8. Explain to the people reading what you felt was worth ...
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but as a videogame journalist you have to rate the game for its own merit. The consensus on Killzone 2 from reviews is that it's close to perfect. A 9 at the least to play it safe.
The graphics = best of this generation.
The use of sound= Very intelligent and immersive, especially on 7.1 surround. However, the voice acting isn't always up to snuff.

I completely agree. It makes me sad knowing some of the more enjoyed multiplatform games this generation could have been 100X better if they had picked the PS3 exlusive road. When you really start to see what the PS3 is capable of in making a game, then you just hit this awe inspiring moment to be proud to own one.
I love my 360, Wii, and PS3, but for now PS3 is the crown gem of pushing games further---K2 being a prime example in just graphics and A.I. alone.
If anyone manages to find a place with an early copy in the next few days, then please for the love of God buy an extra one for me. XD

Why are poor people so angry on these boards? You are going to sit here and tell me if someone came up to you and said, "Here's Killzone 2 early, it'll do MP once the servers are up, but no fancy box/disc for you," that you'd turn them down for a fair enough price?

I seriously would kill a man for K2 this early. I've been scowering the internet for an early copy, but it seems if you are from the USA that is the last place an early copy will be abundant. :(
Star Ocean: The Second Story is still to this day my favorite game of all time. #3 was a big let down in the story department, but hopefully this will be going back to #2s roots more. :)
Too bad Killzone 2 comes out 3 days after this, so I won't be playing SO4 until that Killzone bug wares off a bit. :P

If you read between the lines he's saying in terms of game development and the primary age group games put on the Wii console are better suited for just enjoyment. Games put on PS3/360 tend to lean more on competitiveness, but while still enjoyable will be more enjoyed by more mature people with a sense of competivety.

He's 100% right. Nothing is wrong from what they've seen, and if something DID need fixing when the full retail copy hits then they will address it immediately.

The 10 minutes I spent on my first playthrough of the demo are the best 10 minutes of my life lol. I've played great games for 100+hours that don't stack up to just the 10 minutes of sheer joy I got.
If you don't like the controls then go pick up your Viva Pinata and Barbie's Horse Riding kiddies. Let the smarter people enjoy the better games. :)

Seriously though if your site operates on a 5 star rating system, then K2 is 5 star. No I'm not saying perfect, but I'm saying meets the criteria of being A) A first day buy B) Outstanding competition for its genre C) Could move a console purchase for someone just to play it....
I liked watching this. Not often you get to hear game developers of highly acclaimed franchises speak out on gaming, UNLESS of course they are a certain someone with baby Gap-Tshirts, crooked smiles, and a slight lisp. You know who you are, let's just call him Bliffy C for now.
