Even Kaz Hirai can't turn around the company's fortunes in just a single quarter!
I'm more worried about the fact that they expect sales to stay flat for consoles, which to me suggests no price cut and no slim PS3. unless they're just being conservative.
@JellyJelly - LMAO, that is completely untrue. He is just acting the way a mod needs to by punishing fanboys.
Mirror's Edge was a great game, so I hope there is a new one, but it's unlikely. I'd guess:
-Criterion game? Maybe Burnout or Black finally?
- Wii U game, pretty sure about this one.
- Vita game.
@Heartnet - That's nowhere near the percentage that Sony and MS take from licensing (which I believe is 30%, not too sure), plus the cost of actually printing discs, boxes and paying a distributor to get the game out there, and then retail needs to take a cut off that $60 too, and it will be at least 25%!
Of course they make much more money from digitally sold games on their own service, anyone denying this is a complete fanboy! This is the same reason why Sony can afford...
@piroh - I doubt they will do that. What's more likely is that PlayStation games on the service will only be accessible through certain Sony devices, but the rest of the catalog, such as multiplatform games will probably still be made available on every device.
The reason OnLive is worried is because the addition of Sony's back catalog of games differentiates their service, AND makes it better if both companies have equal rights over multiplatform games in the future....
It looks like this might connect with the PS4, because the IR control is very much like the Wii-U.
Deus Ex Versus XIII! /s
On topic - I'm pretty sure they are, HR was good, but Deus Ex 1 was still the best game in terms of freedom imo. Hopefully they add more mods in the next game.
It's already out in the EU for about a month now, dunno about Japan.
Homefront and Darksiders had completely different developers, and importantly, Darksiders 1 was very polished.
Sound shapes finally coming out, I expected it at PSVita's launch personally.
I'll reply here because comment 1 will undoubtedly be reported and deleted as spam. I'm guessing this could be to do with Gaikai and/or PlayStation Suite, but doubtit has anything to do with the full-fledged next-gen consoles. Both companies have got successful gaming divisions, so it makes no sense to join forces. If they were both in an ailing situation, then they may have considered something like that.
1 million doesn't seem anywhere near enough for a sequel imo. Perhaps Capcom didn't spend as much on it for development or something that they can afford a sequel after just 1 million units sold? The game had a lot of depth, but graphically it look quite terrible, so if anything, I hope they improve that.
If Nomura has to ever say something like, "Please focus on FF13 for now" again, I may kill someone, probably Wada.
*Plans Wada assassination*
@Tr10wn - You really should finish it, the ending especially is quite awesome. I've downloaded again from PS+ and have been considering trying to platinum it.
I've already got one, but I really really really hope that Level-5 make a Jeanne D'Arc 2 or something on the level of that game.
Wow, I've played entire games start to finish in less time! This game is going to be epic.
@Hisiru-
1. Where have those specs been confirmed? A lot of it is speculation.
2. The Wii was only about 50% more powerful than the Gamecube. Going by the same format, if the WIi-U is only 50% more powerful than the Wii, that's not enough. I know it will be much more than this, but what matters is how much more.
It's pretty clear you are a Nintendo fanboy, so obviously you won't understand a legitimate cause for concern for you p...
Specs were always the focus, I remember back in the Sega Master System/SNES days talking about how many "bits" a console had, and then how crazy it was that PS1 was 32-bit.
I'm actually doubting whether it is even as powerful as the PS3 or 360, because Nintendo are specifically not releasing any details, which is very suspicious. I have a feeling it will be able to support games natively at 1080p, but at a big cost to the graphics, so none of the games will look that much better than the PS3 or 360.
Sweet, finally an announcement of the date. I honestly expected this to come out early next year.
