@mat - It could do better because of the new features, but it's unlikely because consumers don't buy sequels to FFs (FFX-2/FF13-2) as much as full blown new titles (by that I mean FF15, FF16 etc), especially in Japan. I enjoyed FF13 and FF13-2, but I thought that neither of these games was anything like a real FF game, although FF13-2 made some effort to fix these issues.
So although I don't really want another sequel, I will still play it, and still find problems...
Sales of Sony games are not the same as sales for third-party games. Sony, Nintendo and MS have an advantage over third-party, because they retain 100% of the profit. Third party publishers have to pay a license fee of around 30% for their games to be sold on each system, more if they use more discs/layers.

XIII-2 sold less than the first game, despite being better in many ways, and this one will probably sell less than the second game.
So let's all be 100% honest here. When I first saw the Wii, when it was announced at E3 all those year's ago. I and many other gamers, and several of the gaming journalists, Pachter included, thought, "This looks like it could be really awesome". I mean the Red Steel demo and the way Nintendo handled the announcement, nobody expected that this stuff was smoke and mirrors, which is why it sold so well from the off.

@donbear - Most people would agree that MGS1 is the best in the series, Peace Walker comes close though.

This was actually an issue for me in the EU, as I tried downloading Soul Reaver yesterday on my Vita and it didn't work. But when I tried it today, I think Sony did some maintenance, I managed to download it directly from my download list whereas before I couldn't.
Well tbh, if they expected low sales, what that means is that it isn't a big issue for them that sales are low at the moment. This is either because they're making profit at the current price, or because they expected holiday sales to be stronger than the March-August period, which has low sales anyway, or both.

Having multiples of the same system is not stupid, as sometimes there is a need for it. But if you have one of a system, and sell it because "you got bored of it" and then bought it again at a later date, that is incredibly stupid from a consumer standpoint.

At least they're offering something more for Gold that may actually be worth subscribing for. Paying for online play is just stupid, and I hope these are MS' steps to righting that wrong. But it won't be, because too many people are willing pay to play on XBL.

I actually already thought this was the case, because it's not exactly easy to switch accounts on PS Vita. It's not a big problem for me, but I would have liked a multiple sign-in option like on PS3.
From the beta, this is just...a game. That is the only way to describe what The Secret World is like, there is nothing special about it at all. I played it for a few hours, uninstalled it, and haven't played it since because it was so plain and generic.
Does this mean no more Wipeout? What will i buy for my PS4 as launch title?!
These guys are so talented, hopefully they either start their own mini studio or get merged into other Sony first party studios.
I don't know about anyone else, but I really hoped someone who actually knew about gaming had bought this company out, but it's just a random venture capitalist meaning, he throws money at OnLive, nothing changes, and we're back in this same situation a year or two from now.
It takes a while to get going, I did the same. I gave up on it a while back after playing a few hours, but came back to it recently, but once you start to get more freedom, it gets much much better.
