It will be timed exclusive guys, don't worry about it too much.
They will cut the price as soon as the Xbox 720 or PS4 is released, whichever comes first. They did the same to 3DS when Vita released, so Pachter is right in a sense.
The resolution might have improved, but the game looked almost the same as PS3/360 versions. It's like saying you provide 1080p video streaming, and the bitrate is 500kbs.
Great move from Nintendo, convincing Activision to put Blops 2 on the system, however, Firstly, nobody is going to buy the system for BLOPS 2 because they already have PS3 or 360 or PC. Secondly, PS3/360 will always be bogging the Wii U down even if it can handle better graphics (which is likely conside...
@ABizzel - I kinda doubt they'd do that. There's no game that uses the entire 12GB for installs, so it is enough for Sony to be able to say, "Delete some files from your PS3 or buy an extra HDD". If they put in a better Blu-ray drive, it kinda defeats the purpose of making the device cheaper to make (unless 2x Blu-ray lasers cost more to make than 4/8x, which is possible)
As expected, Nintendo didn't go for $199 or even $249 that people were talking about. It's too expensive at $299 because Sony will be launching slim soon, and Xbox 360 is already dirt cheap. They can only hope for a lot of hype during launch, but I just don't see it being sustained after it's first few weeks on shelves.
Good release date though, but again, they're competing with COD, which is a big mistake imo.
Pleasantly surprised so far, couldn't imagine 1GB for OS ever. Suggests that they are leaving a lot of room for new features if needed, and I guess later on in the lifecycle they can update the firmware to give part of this back to developers.
"Game discs are 25GB, discs run at 22.5 MB/s."
So this is an unlicensed Blu-ray disc, that runs at 5X speed? Seems weird. PS3 runs at 2X which is 9 MB/s, should help a lot. I'd expect that Sony would g...
@commonsense - All "core" really means is a gamer that will spend a significant amount of money on buying games regularly, as opposed to casual gamers who will probably buy Madden or FIFA each year and that's it for example.
Can someone explain why people are taking this guys comments (piteru) as truth? Like, did he correctly predict something in the past or what.
Also, kinda obvious that new PS3 model is likely to be shown at TGS.
DS2 is a really great game, at least it was number 1 in the month. Hopefully the sales continue during the holidays.
Even if it's 8 Billion I'm sure any company who buys them will more than make their money back on COD and WoW (guaranteed money) and all the other titles. Not much of a risk if you look at it that way.
I just wanted to put this out there, has anyone with a PS3 and Vita, that are from different regions, been able to connect them together? I have a US PS3, and a UK Vita, and have not been able to get any remote play/game transfer things to work, ever. Transfarring works only because Konami's system uses a third-party upload services.
It's really annoying, and I hope Sony get rid of this stupid block.
Is it just me or does his head look HUGE!
20% is not enough, especially for Capcom.
True knowledge is knowing that you know nothing.
Woah great update
Seriously doubt that it will be $249 and it will never be $199, $349 is probably the most likely price point. Mainly because the controller will cost a LOT more to make than a conventional controller due to the integrated screen, but also because a weak Yen means that they need to charge more in the US to compensate.
Plus this is a new piece of hardware, so at first at least, they want to sell it for as much as possible to the first few buyers.
That feature is kinda pointless tbh. I'm more excited by all the new gameplay changes such as hiding in shadows, vehicle usage and improved targeting.
Metal Gear might have began on MSX, but Metal Gear SOLID started on PS1, so that's why people associate Snake with MGS.
I've never tried the online mode for Borderlands, but I think it is possible
I'm going to leave it for at least a year, because the Wii was the worst thing I ever bought, and all of the games, even those that were critically acclaimed (e.g. SMG), I hated. I need to see a lot more games that I like before I buy one. Also, I need a lot more information on specifications to understand whether or not this console will actually last through PS4/Xbox 720, or be destroyed by the graphics of those systems.
