Well if you have two equal or similar platforms, what it comes down to is exclusives, and we all know that Sony has MS beat in that respect, simply in terms of amount of first and second party studios. Add to that the influx of Indie developers due to Sony's Pub Fund, and I honestly cannot see what MS can offer gamers other than Halo, Gears, Forza and Fable. I've got a feeling they will try and get timed DLC exclusivity deals for COD, and give Activision a lot of money for it.
It's a bit of a coincidence that Xyla and T900 posted virtually the same comment in this thread, one after the other:

Suggests to me that you are using duplicate accounts.
@T900 - I agreed with you, but I would like to know what people mean by "latency issues". It seems to be the go to thing for PC gamers, but no one gives an actual figure for the latency that can be backed up with proof? The way I see it is this, the PS4 uses an APU (Combined CPU/GPU according to the specs) rather than a traditional GPU/CPU, so is it not possible that Sony/AMD have already thought about this problem and figured out a way to mitigate any latency issues?
@Trunkz - You told him not to compare, and then you compare it yourself? PC and consoles CANNOT be compared 1:1 because the console is static hardware, and PCs are always changing.
If you want at least a slightly true comparison, compare a PC game in 2006, with a late PS3 exclusive game e.g. Uncharted 3. Why? Because the PS3 games now are fully utilizing the system's power, and if a PC is so powerful, it should have been able to offer the same in 2006. If you can do this...
PS3 OS uses only 64mb of RAM, granted it doesn't have to do as much, but just shows how far you can go with optimisation.
"hold on but some of the ps3 fans told me ps3 > pc? wtf!!"
Don't know who sad that, but of course the PS3 is not better than PC in terms of power. It might have been when it released due to the unique-ness of the CELL chip, but even then, it can't really be compared because it can't ever be a 1:1 comparison (also the RSX was out-of-date. But the PS3 can still be better than PC in terms of the many exclusive games.
"Hopefully they...
It does seem like Microsoft will introduce a new Twitter / Social Media rule for their employees in the future.
Anyone else find it really hard to follow what this guy is saying, his accent is very harsh.
If you told anyone in 2006 that Sony would be being praised by both gamers and developers in 2013, and MS would be being berated by gamers and developers, they would literally have punched you in the face. But that's what's happening. I can't quite believe it.
I would agree to an extent that no company is this stupid, but then if you look at Microsoft's recent portfolio; Zune (although it was good), Vista, Kin, Windows 8, they always try and force something on their customers, which is why there may be some truth to this rumor.
If you also combine it with the other leaks such as:
- No used games
- Install-only
- Cable-box mentality
- Gaming taking a back seat in the next Xbox in favour of other e...
@Darth - seems like you're the only one with the tin foil hat because its not just PS3 fanboys talking about this, it's EVERYONE. There are people on the Major Nelson blog saying they've only had Xboxes since they launched, and are now considering switching. It is not fanboys SL"spinning" things, unless you think fanboys are really that organized.
It sounds like it's playing backwards
EDIT - just tried that in Audacity, and it sounds even weirder in reverse. Looks like some chopped up vocal that has some sections playing forwards, and other backwards all interspersed.
@Thatlalala - What do you expect him to do? Dig the roads and plant his own telephone cables?
How narrow-minded can you be? There are plenty of people in the world tat don't have stable internet connections. They are NOT the minority, in fact it's more likely that they are the majority. Hell, I live in UK, and some times our internet goes down as well. There is no such ting as a bullet-proof internet service, because they always go down at some point.
@Darth - Quality depends on the developer not the console itself. Sony's first and second party developers will continue to make amazing games that will still be more optimized than the majority of third party titles.
They didn't use cheaper hardware because of a fear of a small install base. They went for cheaper hardware because the company as a whole is struggling and needs to be able to make as much money as possible, but at the same time, they wanted to offer gamers a serious upgrade from their current consoles.
NOWHERE in the article does Andrew House say it is coming out in October 2013. The Sun, a crappy tabloid newspaper in the UK, are just saying it is due in October with no source or information. They always do this.
It probably will release in October, but The Sun *spits* does not have any new information that the rest of us don't already have.
@blitz - Wada getting kicked out of the CEO position. Now that is worth celebrating.
I'm surprised this wasn't the collectors edition
@cayleee - Everyone knows you are a PC fanboy, but I'll reply to one part of your comment anyway. Component manufacturers almost always make a profit on what they are selling, and if anyone thinks that nVidia didn't make a profit from being in the PS3, they are just stupid. It might not have been an obscene profit, but it was a profit nonetheless.
Maybe get your head out of nVidia's ass and look at the situation as a whole and it's pretty clear that the nVidi...
100% backward compatibility is expensive, because it will mean that the console will have to have the PowerPC chip on the board, and sometimes the GPU chip as well. This means increased heat, which means you need to have a bigger heatsink, which means you need to have a bigger console, which means you have to have more plastic. And so on, which means it costs more to make, and therefore more to buy.
Especially if the console is so different to the previous generation in term...
