Crazy how Sony trusted him to do something awesome with that concept, shows them in a good light
People are just stupid if they believe that MS will launch the next Xbox in June. That is NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR MARKETING. If MS had revealed at the end of last year, it would have been possible, but the earliest they will launch will be Holiday 2013, because it just makes sense.
It's also worth remembering, that the OS overhead for games consoles is usually very tiny. I think the PS3's OS runs on 64 MB of RAM, and that's it. This is not the case with PCs which have a big overhead with Windows OS, print spoolers, antivirus, component drivers and software etc.
"Launch" in this case, means announcement. It is the same way with the PS4, many journalists called it the "launch" i.e. BBC, but Kaz replied saying it wasn't really a launch.
If the company does that, then you simply don't support the game(s) until they stop doing it. Simple. Just because a minority of publishers misuse the idea, doesn't mean the idea is at fault.
If you don't need to buy it, how does it affect you? At the end of the day these pointless DLC objects are made specifically to sell, they wouldn't exist otherwise.
Yeah, but YOU don't need to buy your way through a game so how does it affect you in any way? Seriously, ask yourself that question and you'll realise you are just getting worked up over something that is happening to someone else.
@dafegamer - they can go the route of using unlicensed bluray e.g. WiiU, but it will still be bluray. However, the rumours suggest that they will use 50GB bluray, which is definitely licensed because unlicensed is 25GB
This story is complete bullshit, and it is easy to tell it is information made up by amateurs.
"It will not include Blu-Ray"
It DEFINITELY will include Blu-Ray.
"Can PlayStation 4 Restore Our Lost Love for Sony?"
They already have....they already have.
4 months isn't enough time to market and unveil a console. If they are targeting a November release date, they needed to reveal at least something before E3. And it looks like MS is set to do the same.
Announcing what they did in February is the best decision Sony ever made. It gives developers enough time to take a look at all the hype and good ideas that Sony has brought to the table, and decide whether or not they wish to develop a game for the system.
It supports DVD and the laser is the same so CDs will most likely be supported.
This is an idiotic article because it doesn't even matter. It's like saying Windows Phone 8 won't recuperate WP7 losses, but even if there was it wouldn't matter because that's not the frickin point. The point is it is a product that will make some money, yet some idiot always has to bring some stupid fanboy crap into it.
@shutup - The point is, Diablo will be on the system, and that is enough for Sony because they have a game in their portfolio that will appeal to a different type of gamer. In addition to this, if it does well, Torchlight developers may see an opportunity and release a game on PS4 as well.
MS did change the specs at the latest point last time, which caused the RROD issue. I can't see them making the same mistake again. Whatever they've already confirmed as specs, will be the same. Although the leaks in the first place may not have been accurate.
@mcstorm - Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but owning and having played all of the games you mentioned, they do not look as good as the games I mentioned on PS3. Sure they look good, but Halo 4 is nowhere near the level of something like Uncharted. If you have eyes, then it's just a fact. And I'm not saying this in a fanboy way, I'm just saying that I don't think GOW3 or Uncharted could be done on 360 hardware, no matter who was developing for the system.

@Death - "None of the promises of Blu-ray that benefits gamers came true".
Actually, that's not true at all, because there is nothing available on any current gen system that looks anywhere near as good as the Uncharted franchise, God of War 3 or MGS4, and a big part of that is the fact that 1, they are exclusive and can therefore utilise the system to full advantage, and 2, they haven't had to cut content due to lack of disc space.

Yes, the games will be scalable to Wii U, obviously Wii U is likely to suffer with the worst version of all multiplatform games, but the bigger question that will be on the developer's minds is, "Is it worth porting the games to Wii U?" Until Nintendo can prove that Wii U owners will buy games other than first party titles, it's unlikely that the Wii U will be supported by most developers, especially indie studios who are short on cash.
@Logic - Why? MS has millions of subscribers that are willing to pay for online play, and it will not get rid of it until it is substantially losing to Sony.
@DaThreats -
1. No chance, will definitely be mentioned.
2. Gears possibly, and they will most likely have new IP.
3. Won't match it. It will be weaker according to the rumored specs, which it turns out were almost exact for PS4. So expect the same for 720. I can on...
The truth is, the Sony and MS are going with AMD next generation for a few reasons:
1. Their chips are smaller in terms of die size, and also produce less heat and require less energy to run. This means the heatsink, and the PSU that Sony and MS have to make can be smaller, making the console itself smaller, meaning it is cheaper to make as there are less components, plastics etc.
2. AMD have the ability to offer CPU and GPU on the same chip because they own ...
