This looks like a great controller. It's like halfway between a ps3 and 360 controller. Wider, grips are more rounded, sticks are indented. It's like the perfect controller.
This is so stupid, and sounds incredibly desperate on MS' part. If it is announced, it will be plastered on almost of gaming news outlet there is, and will almost definitely be picked up by the newspapers and the TV news shows.
What?!
@Pixel - Very true. The stock is going up as a whole, and Sony is doing a lot of things to turn around their business. The fact that the loss has decreased this quarter has proven that what they are doing is working, but it will just take a little longer for the turnaround to complete.
@nukeitall - PS4 will not be sold at a massive loss like the PS3 was. That's just not going to happen because they aren't using proprietary (and therefore expensive) hardware, and this ...
Not good, three quarters of this title are BAD. Only positive is Bluray discs and no more disc swapping.
I don't really have a problem with Pachter because most of the time he is quite logical, but this is just stupid. Guman's can barely see moving images above 30fps, 240fps is a completely redundant amount of frames, that will increase the price of development by up to 8 times, needlessly. 60fps is more than enough.
@bunt - Definitely.
A lot of this is old rumors, and conjecture and nothing that has actually been substantiated.
Also Xbox June release, really doubt it.
Wow, I really didn't expect this trailer to be this good after the mess Sony made with the Xperia Play ad. I am super impressed.
Same here, i was expecting a lazy port like COD BLOPS but this looks incredible, definitely buying this.
This article was written by Jim Sterling! He's usually such a Negative Nancy. I totally agree with him on this and always thought XBLive was a ripoff, just a pay wall to access things that should be free.
Deimos?
Actually its looking more likely that it will go down the Wii U route in some way, maybe not exactly, but having a screen on a main controller could definitely happen.
I'm not too bothered as long as they don't release any major exclusives on the PS3 when the PS4 is already out.
Definitely the Wii in terms of hardware.
As a fan of JRPGs, all I can say to this news is this...THANK GOD, because westernization or what Japanese developers seem to think is westernization, has ruined JRPGs.
I meant to write "without MS" at the end of that last paragraph.
Wait...what?! It "makes sence" as you put it??
It doesn't make sense at all. Microsoft has sold over 60 million consoles this generation, and have raked in loads of royalties from publishers. So it doesn't make sense at all. Why would you join up with a rival, when you are already making money from the business? That only ever happens when a company is struggling very badly, and MS is far from struggling.
And you could say the same thing abo...
He is an analyst for Wedbush-Morgan Securities (Now Wedbush Securities) and has to write reports and such to investors on certain stocks for that company, and he looks after a lot of gaming company stocks, so he goes to all the industry events and meets with the game companies quite a lot. He's more knowledgeable about the industry than we give him credit for, but he thinks about it as an investor, which is why his predictions are not usually very accurate.
There are other games that can be big for systems. Monster Hunter was a new IP last gen, who would have thought it would be this successful. The same thing can happen this gen with a different game.
With that said though, if this is true, then it is a big blow to Sony. But it's not over till it's over.
@Dom -
1. It's a prototype
2. Everything always looks better when you see it first hand and not off some random camera phone images. Case in point, PS3 Slim (standard), looks much better in person than in pictures.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion though. I'm pretty sure people said the same thing about the original Xbox 360 controller, because it does look quite childish in terms of colours etc., but when you play with it you realise th...
