The majority of the games I've purchased this gen are Japanese. There has been a resurgence of Japanese games on the market. The switch itself is seeing success due to Japanese developed games. Then you have the likes of Kingdom hearts and FFVI generating massive interest on the internet whenever some news drop.
Discounting the variety that Japanese games can provide can hinder the growth of a console and the Xbox one is losing appeal in major world markets bc its Japanese games ...
I hope it's the beginning to more Treasure games re-releasing on the switch or other platforms. They were unstoppable in the 90's with countless classic gems. Some duds.
I might get Ikaruga, although I get frustrated quickly and I might throw my switch out the window.
I cannot wait to play this. wish they'd release a gameplay demo, even if it's a quick one. I just want to know how it handles.
I am also baffled why they're releasing a collection so close to their genesis-mini announcement. It is marketing cannibalism given that this collection is readily available on former gens, minus a couple of games.
Only place where this collection isn't on is the Switch and that's exactly where it needs to be.
Am I the only one baffled by all of this?
Glad to see Shining in the darkness being one of the fav's
Sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I am battling skin cancer myself and something is off about my red blood cells. I take it a day at a time so I can manage it all.
Sending you good vibes.
I am with you on both counts. I am also extremely biased towards a new entry in the Shining Force franchises, as you can tell by my avatar. I love SJRPG's, thank god Fire emblem exists. among others.
Not a fan of these visual novels x SJRPG's.
They all deserve another chance on ps4, switch and Xbox one. Sega is actually seeing some profit on the games they have published so they may venture into developing and releasing older IP's. I am looking forward to Sakura Wars and I hope it releases on ps4 and Switch.
I could be buying more Switch games, but those sales are never cheap enough. I mean some of these games are a year old and others exist already on other platforms. This nintendo seal of quality is still true for some of the games but don't other studios make great games with that same seal of quality? And some of these games exceed in content and re-playability.
you know what would be a game changer for the Switch (not that it's flailing), an adapter for 3ds games that'd hook itself onto the Switch so you can play all the 3ds and perhaps DS games too. Just sayin'
Nothing, he's good, we're good.
And one must wonder, is it a worthy comparison? Yes, they are both juggernauts for Sony but that's where it ends.
I don't want to play god of war like I want to play Uncharted , otherwise it'd be the same damn game with different skin.
I'm all for studios comparing notes on how to push the hardware and refine performance and that's where the collaboration should flourish. It is healthy competition...
The demo was great, it had an engaging story, fun turn based combat and an amazing soundtrack. This game will be a gem.
I'd like them to release some the Phantasy Star remakes they did for Sega Ages on the PS2, as well as Virtual On
I don't see the appeal of many of the games that were listed. All available via emulation.
Saturn games and DC games should be in Sega Ages.
Oh wow, this could turn out to be great! So many arcade fighters and beat them ups, this is something that's definitely on my radar!
They have ported Nights into Dreams and Guardian Heroes, I am not sure how they managed but these ports were actually great. There sega saturn emulators out there that can play most of the Saturn's library, why can't Sega create a mini Saturn. They also have ported Saturn games to ps2 via Sega ages.
Damn, I thought it was already given. Of course, we want it. Yakuza style with Kenshiro, the ultimate combination.
The demo was great on the JPN psn store.
They sent a survey to those who purchased Yakuza 6. Why not poll everyone? I'd rather support this iteration.
I approved this article so fast!
"I can play sonic the hedgehog on my microwave!" dead! Those genesis games are overplayed and tired.
The Saturn had an impressive collection of quality JRPG's, Shining Force, Dragon Force, Albert Odyssey, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining the holy ark, Dark Savior (talk about creating an atmosphere) .some that were not translated in English. Go tweet Sega about this.

@Yi-Long: thank you! That's how I feel every time I play it. It kicks my ass so much! And I am decent gamer, Demon souls didn't give me that much trouble (Well a lot of trouble, but not like that!)
Lol, got excited about the topic, forgot to add an extra I, FFVII is what I meant.
