So it turns out valve will have the most most powerful console ever made. This is interesting.
If you mean definitive console version then yes, it will be according to what he said about the Xbox One. But obviously you can't beat the PC's 1080p 60 frames.
I can see how trying to branched out and appeal to a wider audience while attempting to please a bunch of self-entitled and arrogant fanboys who claims to be his fanbase would take a bunch stress out of him.
His games are amazing and if these fanboys were really true fanatics of his games then going multiplatform shouldn't be a problem to them, but of course we all know they are full of themselves.
Hearing all this news about all these games running at such low settings makes me really doubt the consoles capabilities and laugh at the whole optimization argument console fanboys like to use. What happened to the 3D-capable, 4k resolution console they were hyping it to be?
That's unfortunate to hear. I usually like to play my games at least 60 frames, especially fps multiplayer games for faster twitch reaction. It being 30 frames isn't much of an issue since the game is more single player centric.
I disagree why not share the love? Kingdom Heart and MGS are amazing franchises and there are a demographic of people who doesn't know about it or it's not on their console of choice. Making it multiplatform is a great way to spread it the masses.
I think this is a wonderful alternative to Windows. The reason why an OEM copy of Windows is so expensive is because there is no real competition. If this becoming successful means no more spending a hundred dollars on a copy then I'm game.
If Valve pulls this off then I can finally stop paying for the overpriced and over bloated Windows.
They still have to deal with the issue with Microsoft's monopoly on DirectX API and Nvidia and AMD.
Looks like battlefield 4 on the PC. I wonder what is the resolution and settings.
I am excited for GTA V and all the crazy mods that will ensue.
At this point both companies are in the red zone and their console need to succeed in order to survive to next generation. It will be bad to consumers if either one goes to the toilet: less competition = more expensive.
I highly disagree. The fact that PS4 architecturally close to a PC will make it that much is easier for developers to port game across a PC. And with PC gaming becoming more prevalent in demographics and zero licensing fees, it's going to be stupid for developers to ignore it.
PC easily for me. You can't have this much freedom and versatility on consoles.
I can't simply remove a part from a console and replace without having to go through the painful customer service of Sony or Microsoft, only telling me that my warranty doesn't cover this and that. I can pick any part to my liking and most PC component vendors have excellent service.
Mods and custom servers are also a big advantage. There are so many mods out there fo...
You would compare a game that uses CG cutscenes to a game using real gameplay. I swear these fanboys are becoming more clueless every day
Any PC with a mid range video card like the 660ti can render BF3 at 60 frames and 720p minimum and they cost $200 average. A rig built around a mid-range video card can be built for 500 dollars. To top it off, you have free online so it won't cost you yearly.
@Maninja
The Tweet you posted isn't from a Battlefield developer and in fact is just a regular person who makes youtube videos, so it's not creditable in any way.
Waiting a minute... I see an article not too long ago of Mark Cerny saying that PS4 offers More Customization than a PC and anyone who said otherwise was getting flak for defing Cerny's great words.
Now I am seeing a complete u-turn of attitude from the same people when this article states the EXACT opposite of Cerny's words. This kind retarded fanboy logic that worries me to no end.
@Metfanant
AMD has already released the jaguar chipset in a form of an APU in mobile market with their A4 series.
The A4-5000 is based off the same Jaguar chipset with the CPU clocked at the same clock speed and came amount of cores.
The Jaguar's CPU is based off the FX series and it actually has 4 modules capable of executing processes independently but each module needs to share L2 cache.

Also this laptop has a better APU than the Jaguar and has a 750GB HDD while only costing 30 dollars more than the PS4 and 130 dollars more then the Xbox One.
I don't get it. They sound like they perform exactly the same with minor differences.
