That is not true. PC has plenty of talent that greatly innovated gaming and still to this day. The games modes like zombies, hardcore, and gun game that people take for granted were originally products of the mod community later ripped with developers. Mods are still innovating with Day Z, Trouble in Terrorist Town, and the Hidden. Where can I find that on a console?

And lets not forget the smaller the smaller indie developers that had their start on the PC. Minecraft its st...

As PC gamer who also a PS3, I must say that both platform has their ups and downs but PC has many advantages that keep me coming back.

I mostly game the PC mainly because of it's freedom. I can choose which hardware and software to put inside my rig depending on my funds, and later upgrade when I have enough money. I have to stick with the same closed hardware for years with a console. I have the freedom to install any program. I don't need to install skype for party ...

So you don't notice a difference switching from wireless to wired? I tried the self-built speed test with both wireless and and ethernet and noticed a huge difference. With wireless I had and average speed 8Mb/sec and the ethernet had an average of 15Mb/sec which is quite the difference.

Streaming Netflix is also noticeably different because there much less instances of video buffering. It can't be my wireless router since I'm using an ASUS Dual-band 600N router n...

This is also coming from a person who owns both a PC and PS3. I bought a PS3 solely for the exclusives and I enjoy games like God of War 3 and Killzone 3, but I gravitate more toward the PC mainly for the freedom and cheaper games.

Sure it has bunch of exclusives but nothing can compare to the sheer amount of custom mods on the PC. The Hidden, Trouble in Touble, Day Z are few of the prime examples. CSS is still popular and alive to this day solely because the crazy mods.

Yeah, I do agree with panda when it comes to download cap of PSN and the intergrated wireless adapter. I have a PS3 Slim and it only has a wireless g adapter which makes downloading games and streaming Netflix a hassle since the download caps to 54Mb/s. It's frustrating having a 54Mb/s cap because I own a wireless N dual-band router.

I've been PC gamer for many years as well as being a PC technician for three years with an A+ and Net+ certification so I am confident in my knowledge. I'm not a PC fanboy and I actually prefer the PS4 over the Xbox One ever since the used game conflict.

I have a i5-3570k and GTX 670 FTW. I find it very impressive that the CPU doesn't use more than 40 percent load and manages to have background applications running along with BF3 running a smooth 60 frame in ultra...

Okay... I am getting sick of all the Pro Sony articles on N4G describing the PS4 to this ultimate hardcore gaming console that will outshine the PC, Xbox One, and Wii U. It is this kind of hype that create disappointment later on.

Firstly, the PS4 and Xbox uses the the SAME chipset which is AMD Jaguar which is an overbeefy mobile APU. The differences are in the RAM and integrated GPU Sony Fanboys are touting that it PS4 > PC because Devs optimizes games better on consoles ...

What are you talking about? They use the same AMD Jaguar chipset. I think you mean they use faster RAM and a better GPU...

Finally, changes that makes sense to me. Making a controller that focus more on reducing the latency between it and the console (i.e better reaction time in FPS games) and adding smaller rumble motors for the triggers. These are the things that benefit me as a hardcore gamer. I disagree with with touchscreen as having it more button mapping. I am more confident with the Xbox one now and it is gonna be a day one buy for me.

As a PC gamer, I do agree with him on the statement that next-generation isn't just about graphics and other factors come into play. I believe that immersion will be the defining factor to next gen and graphics play a vital role, but other things like sound are just as important.

For example: instead for the traditional motion controls fade, Valve has decided to focus on biometrics. Imagine playing a horror game and the music becomes more moody and the controller vibrate...

What are you talking about? Nintendo had plenty of competition against their handheld console against big named companies SEGA and Atari back in the day.

Nintendo isn't the only company that has proven this example. Sony's PS2 was severely underpowered compared to both the Gamecube and the first Xbox but it gained the most gaming market share partiality due to its enormous game library.

Having a successful console doesn't mean it has to have the best hardware inside. Nintendo has proven this with the Wii and Nintendo 3DS. Both outpace their competition despite being underpowered.

I own a Wii U and the biggest crutch is the game library. There are only a handful of games the are worth playing and virutally no third party support. The barely any first games out for it right now. When they those issues straighten out, then the console can be on the right t...

I really don't understand all this crying for a developer deciding to go mutiplatform and thinking it will ruin the quality of their gaming. Countless times I have seen PC-only developers go mutiplatform and it has not at affected my enjoyment of their games. Examples include every game every released, the Battlefield franchise, and the Crysis Series. MGS started on the NES and past Metal Gear games has been ported on Nintendo's and Microsoft consoles before, so this decision should n...

I disagree with you. I have seen plenty of PC only developers move over to consoles and the quality of their games are still good. Recent examples would be Crytek and the Crysis Series, DICE and the Battlefield franchise, as well as every Valve game ever made.

DICE has done that amazingly well with PC being the lead platform for Battlefield 3. It performs very across most mid to high level video cards and it has near perfect SLI and Crossfire scaling with performance doubling with two cards. You rarely see that with most games.

I use to like console gaming for the convenience of popping in a disc and playing the game and that outweighed my complaint of consoles being so closed and moderated. Now even that is gone with online passes and having to download patches. I honestly see consoles closed platform PCs which is bad

I'm seeing all these articles about RAM comparisons but nothing on the GPU or CPU.

The GPU is the undoubtedly the most important component when it comes to rendering games, and having a more powerful GPU will outweigh any limitations of RAM.

So Microsoft did decide to stick with DDR3 and ESRAM combo and went with a much GPU, then that would make for a much interesting comparison.

Actually the ESRAM and DDR3 RAM combo was in the Xbox 360. I think Microsoft is sticking with this combination again because it worked so well with the xbox 360 and its more cost effective under their eyes.
