I agree. They will definitely revisit the ME universe, but its extremely unlikely it will be set after the events of ME3. Also, future games are very unlikely to carry on the number scheme. For example, there will not be a Mass Effect 4. Mass Effect 1-3 was Shepard's story. Its over. The next game will follow the suit of the handheld games (Mass Effect Galaxy, Mass Effect Infiltrator) and use a subtitle. So the next console Mass Effect game will be "Mass Effect: Subtitle"
Yeah but it isn't like it'd matter. It's like watching Sixth Sense after you already know the plot. Sure, its a good movie, but once you know the outcome it kinda loses its spark. Mass Effect 2 was fun to replay. Mass Effect 3 leaves me feeling depressed and empty. Not much point in replaying it. Mmm now if they'd remake the first two games using ME3's gameplay mechanics? Paradise.
@KMC
I won't even bother to mention how insanely out-of-character it would be for Liara to hide such a secret from Shepard. Even if she did, the Shadow Broker and Illusive Man would had found out. Hell potentially even the Asari government would find out, don't underestimate how good they can all be at getting information. Shadow Broker makes his business to know more about you than you know about yourself.
There is no way she would had been able to ...
Jack? Possible. Unlikely, but possible. Given the type of... activities... Jack does with men? I'm guessing shes on some type of futuristic birth control. She doesn't seem the type of risk having a brat, but she IS the type who 'approaches sex casually'. Not to mention the history or rape and such. Probably makes extra sure she can't have a kid then, wouldn't want to be carrying around the child of some rapist prick.
T'Soni? Possible, but again unl...
Getting rid of discs altogether and being completely stream? Bad idea. Does that mean we should completely overlook the potential of stream play? No.
Too bad they can't somehow make it a bit like Netflix. I've seen Netflix play beautifully and stream very quickly on some really crappy internet connections. It sometimes baffles me how well they can handle it. Granted, completely different thing though. As it is, don't you need to have like a really, really good int...
I agree that any Rescue DLC is a longshot, basically since it would only effect one ending and wouldn't likely include much fighting and would just be a series of cutscenes.
But DLC in general, for ME3, still has potential. There is the Leviathan DLC. That hasn't be official announced I don't believe but it is heavily suggested. Could be wrong though. Also what about some Retake Omega dlc? I can't be the only one who was upset that you didn't get the opt...
Technically he's only died and returned once. Mass Effect 2.
The endings of ME3 don't really leave much room for escape routes though. There's a difference from having your body charred and burned, nothing but "meat and tubes" yet still being revived, to having your body turned into nothingness as it's absorbed and vaporized.
Again, taking into effect the differences of the endings. Destroy, Control, and Synthesis. The game would ha...
I have to disagree. BioWare has said, on numerous occasions, that this is the end of Shepard's story. Will there be new ME3 dlc to let you play more as Shepard? Definitively. Will Mass Effect 4 feature Shepard? No. Far as they're concern, Shepard is dead. Yes, he can survive, but only one ending. It's not quite like ME2 where you have to kinda work towards making sure Shepard doesn't survive the ending. In ME3, Shepard is pretty much always dead except in the 'perfect'...
Delay announcing a game? No, announcing the game, even years in advance (though such lengths are excessive), helps spark hype to the consumers and will result in more press and potentially better sales. Not giving out an actual release date until it's dead set? Totally.
Would be nice if an actual date wasn't given to the public until say, 2 months prior. There would still be 'insiders' leaking it to the internet though, but at least it wouldn't be 'off...
Well said.
Amen to that.
I pity those who waste their time reading such insufferable garbage.
Not really. Well, maybe a hairs worth. You get to see a still artistic image of Zaeed and Kasumi, for example, if they survived ME2. But it's such a small little thing that it isn't really worth mentioning.
The added cutscenes are mostly just clarification of events. Original Ending Questions: "How did my ground team get aboard the Normandy? Why is the Normandy escaping? How will they get off the garden world? Why didn't exploding relays kill everyone like i...
I don't much care how good some reviews want to paint this thing, there is no way I'm going to be paying $20 dollars for a DLC. Especially sense playing vampire is already dull for me in the game - mainly because everyone can see through your full-covering mask/helmet and tell right away that you're a vampire. What amazing x-ray eyes you guards have.
Agreed. It's also basically dlc that should had already been part of the game. Is it worth the download? Meh. Youtube it. It solves a few of the bigger plot holes but that's about it. If you haven't played/beaten the game yet, yeah, get it. Otherwise you're probably still going to be feeling empty due to the original ending, just watch it on youtube.
At least it helps prove Shepard survived Destroy ending - that's pretty cool.
You sure?
I think you're gravely misinformed of the dlc. The Extended Cut dlc, the 'real ending' stuff? Yeah... it's free. It's an almost-2gb free DLC for all consoles. Though if they did charge for it, you'd be totally right.
Maybe a small window of silence, I'll give you that much. But months? Come on now.
"Now, as video games become more and more focused on storytelling, their narrative structure becomes more and more like movies and books."
Funny, it seems to me that games are focusing less and less on storytelling and more on multiplayer. It could be that todays generation is just more interested in playing the competitive multiplayer of a game rather than the singleplayer. I don't believe I have to name the examples.
Or it could be that 80 per...
A nice alternative to just pirating.
