I own R1 and R2 and honestly I will wait for R3 to hit the bargain bin unless it metascores or demos really well. I'm just not sure this IP is not declining after going R1->R2 and BF3 is right around the corner.

My "take a chance" game for Sept is Space Marine.

From that list the only game I'm "day one"ing is Gears.

13? Just imagine how good he'll be when he's actually old enough to play an M rated game.

@Cablephish: Uh no it's not. 50/50 speaks to the odds of an event occurring not the number of possible outcomes. Do you think whether or not the sun will rise tomorrow has a 50/50 chance?

+1. My first thought when seeing this, was "since when is this game a shooter?" Author is clueless.

Nothing like a straight up discount as a preorder bonus, IMHO. They've had this deal on MW3, Gears 3, Madden, and others, too, over the last couple of months. I've been preordering everything from them for the holiday season when I'v managed to catch them. The deals only last like 48hours, though.

"When the PSP came out, EVERYONE said it would DESTROY the DS."

LOL. It DID. :) I had the DS on day one and the day I got my PSP the DS became pointless. From that day on it felt clunky and most of the software felt like thin/casual shovelware. So as an early adopter of both, yeah, they were right from my perspective.

TBH, I don't care if 500 million people buy 3DSs for their kids (or buy iTouches or whatever). I just hope enough people buy PSV&...

To folks disagreeing with killcycle, he's speaking as a customer (not from the manufacturing standpoint) and he's right with respect to consoles... a lot of the time anyway. PSN doesn't really do deep discounts and they control the market *completely* for the PS3. If a scenario arises where they are the SOLE distributor for PS3 games, no way are you getting a discount.

I can usually find a title at the same price or less @ gamestop for the few AAA PS3 games that ...

We'll find out soon enough: if it sells well then it was a good idea, if not, it won't get many buyers. I could see it being a good system for kids, although the PSPs choices are limited for that demographic somewhat. The PSP is a really nice media player, too. So it's a nice piece of tech in the 99euro price range.

"to think that an RPG/Shooter is considered a risk is quite frightening."

If you want high production values that modern consumers expect, it is going to take a sh*t-ton of artistic and technical talent. That's the cost of developing modern software. If you want clever stuff with simple mechanics and the casual/indie market is doing well these days, but for blockbuster level AAA hardcore games, that's the way the market works. It's not "show friends...

What Clizz said. This is evidence of exactly d*ck with regard to sales. We'll find out a few months from now, after Christmas... shrugs...

I'm guessing COD outsells BF3 at least 2 to 1, minimum. But who knows, really? Maybe this is the year COD gets upset. The point still remains that N4G and gamer conventions are hardly objective measures of general population behavior, though.

My neighbors who don't play games know about COD, my kids and their f...

I thought Unreal Tournament III on the PS3 supported mods and they were even compatible with mods for the PC? So there is some precedent in cross platform MOD support.

Also, LPB and Modnation Racers are almost completely based on user created content/levels. The LBP tools are identical to the developers tools for level creation, etc, IIRC.

At the time, people were rightfully concerned that the go was an attempt to force a different use model on PSP owners and to also obsolete UMD. It was seemingly positioned as a top of the product line based on price and marketing.

This product is a cheap cash in on the PSP tech at the end of its lifecycle that supplements the old product line at a kid friendly price point. Completely different situations.

@NeoBasch You're a 'tard, Gamesharing is friggin awesome (unless you don't have any friends :) ). Plus all the SOCOM titles and Syphon filter were really fun online, not to mention being able to login directly to the PSN store and grab a comic book or the latest pulse or something without a PS3 connection. And then there's remote play as another mentioned.

That said, another cheap knock around PSP is fine by me. I could see this model being pretty young kid fr...

LOL at wasting tons of time writing a super long response because you're "too busy" to actually read the original article. Way to go! :)

"No point in buying a Vita now that the PS3 is the same price as the PS3 has better games & graphics."

Exactly! Just get a backpack, a helmet mounted LCD monitor to attached to your head and a really long extension cord and they're pretty much identical. ROTFL.

Right, just like Street Fighter became a casual game in the 90's. Oh wait. Maybe you're full of sh*t. LOL.

5282d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Anyone who thinks COD is a casual game in the same way that Angry Birds or Solitaire are casual games has lost all perspective of what casual gaming actually means and is bordering on fanboyism, IMHO.

Being consistently on top of the COD leaderboards requires a significant skill set, deep understanding of the maps, and yes, understanding all of the exploits available and being able to utilize them effectively. You may not like the game, you may think other shooters require muc...

More loot slots in the inventory or a storage container/locker somewhere so I can keep/trade more of my scavenged gear. Loved all the guns in Borderlands but I'm a pack rat so it was painful having to just drop them sometimes.
