They ripped off the effect itself, but also the shot composition. The camera angles are identical in all shots. The edit is also ripped off, each shot is the same exact length as the original. The only thing different is the 3D modeling the light is shining on, and some change to the spreading effect on the last shot. This was ripped off.
I am a VJ that makes visual content like this... we don't exactly get rich doing it, and anyone, especially one of the world's most valuable companies, ripping us off, is doing a lot of damage. These animations take a LONG time to come up with and even longer to figure out how to pull it off, then the painstaking process of rendering which can take weeks (or months even). The worst part about it, they probably spent more time and money "making their own version" than they wo...
Most PSVR games render at 60fps and upscale from there. PS5 sending 120 or more native frames per second would definitely help.
It doesn't even claim to be "in engine" in this video, and you know good and well if it were real-time, in engine, gameplay, etc. they would have plastered it all over this video.
While not necessarily impossible, there was no mention at all that what we were seeing was in-engine, in-game, or anything but a pre-rendered cutscene. There was no gameplay shown at all, so keep that grain of salt handy.
AAA production value, but not AAA gameplay, so you don't get AAA sales. None of their games sold all that great.
Microsoft isn't even the world's third most valuable company, timotim.
Who asked this clown to show up to the party months late giving opinions nobody cares about on a game that all of us beat months ago?
Gamer, if you had a background in electronics and had any idea how little that LED light bar affects the DS4's battery life, you'd have a chuckle when reading your comment.
It might not impact its success, but Microsoft will.
Watch PS5 be shaped like a sink... everything and the kitchen sink.
Xbox: Series Why
They didn't show any gameplay of Hellblade... though the cutscenes looked cool. I won't be able to stop calling this system the Xbox: SeX now. Shoulda stuck with Scarlet.
Someone didn't think this one through. Can you imagine how mom/grandma are going to feel when they walk into the store to get their kids a system for Christmas, and they're greeted with "Would you like a Xbox Series X, Xbox One X, or an Xbox One S?
Easily one of the worst console names ever. The design is as boring as it could be as well. Just begs "throw some trash into me".
If Sony snapped up the IP and then gave it back to Kojima...
All that hype about the cloud making XB:O more powerful and how the One X was going to rule the generation with its 6 teraflops, and the XB:O brand teraflopped right into last place.
I'll happily play it on my PS5.
This is BS. VR has had many such "big breakout moments". There are many amazing AAA VR experiences out there, like Doom VFR, Astrobot, Resident Evil, No Man's Sky, Wipeout, etc.
It may be the highest profile title to come to VR, but we can't act like everything else out there are just simple mini-games and not full-fledged AAA experiences.
He just finished dismissing VR the other day...
"Insane upscaled stills from a cinematic that at no time said it was real time or even in-engine.*
