"Must do damage control, quick!"
There's a reason why they chose PS5 to do the reveal of their new engine... UE4's first demos (like elemental) were showcased on souped-up PCs.
Nintendo could surprise us, but I want to agree as well.
There's a reason why they chose the PS5 to reveal the tech demo that will be running on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. I question if that last sequence, where she takes off flying at breakneck speeds through an amazingly detailed environment consisting of billions of triangles and 8k textures, would have even been possible on other hardware with slower HDD transfer rates.
Global illumination is a form of ray tracing... at least make sure you know what you are talking about before you post.
In order for GI to work, the light "rays" must be "traced" as they bounce around the room, enabling them to light up nearby surfaces. For instance, if I put a bright red ball next to a wall and shine a spotlight on it, that light will bounce off the red ball and slightly color the wall next to it with red light.

I hate it when headsets use gimmicks like "7.1"... there aren't 8 speakers in it, it does not get 8 discrete channels... it is 2.0 with emulated surround sound. Nothing more.
While not likely or safe, it's still possible to drive a motorcycle in a dress. Boobs bouncing like they're made of anti-gravity jello, not so much. Not complaining, they can do whatever they want, but if I was a girl I'd probably be a bit turned off by it.
I'm sure her tits bounce 20 times per step, as usual. Totally realistic.
the best tmnt games... I dumped hundreds of dollars of quarters into it.
First of all, due to the many advantages PS5 has over XBSX, such as far faster data transfer from the HDD (so fast it can actually be used as a pool of RAM), higher GPU clock speeds when needed, unified RAM (which proved to be a big advantage for Xbox 360 over PS3, and again with the PS4 over Xbox One), the tempest engine which can process not just 3D audio, but other tasks as well (physics, etc), as a complete system in the real world, it may turn out that PS5 holds some power advantages ove...
I prefer FF7R over FF7. I find it easier to connect with the characters when they aren't blocky, cutesy little avatars speaking through text (that sometimes isn't translated all that well, as a recent article here pointed out). The reason they were able to make that game so massive while still staying within the $3 million it cost to make was due to that simplicity. If they made the same game the same size today, it would cost 3-4x as much to buy it, with all the advanced graphics, vo...
If launch window games are what you are going to base your choice on, it'll be an easy choice considering that no first party games will be available for X at launch, and not for a long time after, either.
Not sure where "Sephir Sephiroth" gets translated as "Book of Numbers", Sephiroth translates to "Anger" from Latin.
Last gen they headed into this gen, though in last place, still giving the PS3 a run for its money. This time, they're heading into next gen in a distant last place. I can't see how that can be spun into heading into the generation in a position of strength.
@godmars, this game sticks too close to retelling the same story to brand itself as anything other than ff7, even if there's some new content, some dialogue is better written, voice acted, better animated, better art direction, etc. to reflect the modern upgrade.
It fleshes out the story and characters in ways that the original never could have tried to with its limited toolset. So yes, in that regard, it isn't good enough to match the vision this title brings.
Couldn't agree more, and can't wait to see what the follow-up chapters bring.
People are actually arguing the semantics of the word remake... they have nothing better to bitch at than the fact that We didn't get the exact same game word for word, despite how dated that would have appeared with modern day visuals, animation, sound, etc.
Now you non-VR crybabies can have your training wheels.
People will bitch about anything these days... quit whining and go play the original, if the original is what you wanted. There's nothing at all wrong with it. This game stays as true to the original as a current gen remake possibly can, while at the same time diving far deeper into the story than the original did, and making the characters far more enjoyable/relatable. I'm enjoying this game more than any other modern RPG I've played in years.
@logicwins PS4 Pro can render HDR at 4:4:4 chroma subsampling just fine, but the HDMI 2.0 spec doesn't support 4:4:4 YUV color resolution at 4k60fps. Any movie or video you've ever seen in HDR was delivered at 4:2:0 chroma sub-sampling. I produce HDR videos for a living. Many HDR TVs don't support 4:4:4 either since they only have HDMI 2.0.
4:4:4 is increasing the chroma sub-sampling resolution, it isn't reducing the number of colors that can be achieved. Y...
