I wouldn't expect gen10 until late 27 or 28.
"That´s what I would call *control*."
That's what I call "moving the goal posts". You're the one who was swearing up and down that "NO AAA XBOX EXCLUSIVE TITLES WILL EVER RELEASE ON PS5." Now that Phil's words directly contradict that, you're changing your tune...
You can clearly see that after the 2008 collapse, it took a few years, but the market contracted. Same as COVID, it took a few years, but now the market is in another contracting period. It will rise again...
Expecting never-ending growth is foolish. It is unsustainable, in any market. There will be periods of contraction and expansion.
I don't know about losing numbers, but Moore's Law is Dead reported that their annoucned 34 million number for GP, which includes XBL Gold numbers, is basically the same as it was 2 years ago, when it was 33.6 million.
A concept Xbox has never been able to understand.
"A future where every screen is an Xbox. This is a future where Xbox is everywhere—consistent with our promise to empower players to “play the games you want, with the people you want, anywhere you want." - Phil Spencer
At no point did Phil say these would be the only 4 games ever, in fact he said quite the opposite... they spent the next 30 minutes of that presentation detailing exactly why they planned on releasing more games on other consoles. Let me reassure you by highlighting Phil Spencer's words...

Remember Switch isn't even as powerful as an Xbox One... It launched last gen weaker than both the systems it was competing against.
Microsoft has everything to lose here, gamers have fewer reasons to buy an Xbox now... whereas PS5 and Switch still have their exclusives and have no reason to give them up to competing platforms, so both are in a position of power over Microsoft. Microsoft are the pawns here in their own game of chess, not the other way around.
It definitely doesn't have people playing them... Which is why this is happening.
They did release DLC for Remake... so we'll see.
Sony finally has their COD killer... PlayStation is COD's biggest selling console, by far, so for this to surpass it says something.
I have been dying for a new Tenchu type game, and this one seems to scratch that itch... stealth swordplay, the grappling rope to get to rooftops easily... I think I'll pick this one up.
@blackblades
Someone has to have the courage to actually push the industry forward, rather than staying stuck 3 generations back with their hardware and games that don't push the envelope from a technical and immersive perspective. Even if it isn't the most profitable path, it is profitable (Sony isn't losing money, losing stock isn't losing money... even their $300 million Spiderman 2 sold $700 million worth of games.) and I applaud Sony for having the cour...
There's a lot of factors at play here that people aren't considering. We're still seeing the effects of the COVID shutdown on game development, being that games take years to make, it took a couple years for those delays to manifest... and we're also seeing a contraction in the industry because of the chip shortages caused by shipping and production getting shut down during the pandemic as well. You couldn't buy a new console for the first 2 years of their existence... thi...
You'll spend more on the system itself than you will on a PS5 with 5 years of PS+ Premium subscription fees, and you get no free games to show for it.
Sony is the market leader, for them to take their exclusive games, which give people reason to buy a PS5 over an Xbox Series S/X, and give them to Microsoft would be stupid. Microsoft is doing it because they have no other choice, their shareholders are getting pissed that they spent nearly $100 billion buying out the industry and still aren't selling any more consoles or gamepass subs (their gamepass subs are at the same point they were 2 years ago, 34 million, and that's INCLUDING X...
Funny how y'all claim Xbox innovated by having broadband and a hard drive, yet PS2 was designed from the start to have a hard drive bay and an ethernet connection that could be added to it... it was already heading in that direction before Xbox was even a thought, it just didn't come bundled with it.
That isn't innovation, that is reaction.
The closest thing to an innovation Xbox can claim is Kinect, and we all know how that turned out.
I'm more interested in using it with non-game PC apps, like microdose VR, unreal engine 5, etc.
