I’m super happy they put Intelligentqube on here, it’s fantastic puzzle game... but the rest of the list is pretty meh.
Whole heartedly disagree. While the GameCube definitely had some great horror games, to me, the PS1 really pioneered the genre (at least for consoles) with the RE series, Silent Hill, Clocktower, DinoCrisis, as well as a few others.
If with the recent news of Microsoft heavily investing in a streaming service, coupled with them making in-roads with eastern developers, I can see them really boosting their APAC presence. I don’t believe the vast Japense gaming community will ever go out buy an Xbox console, but since their network infrastructure is so much greater than ours and that they prefer mobile gaming, I think Microsoft can finally have decent chance of becoming a player (pun intended) over seas.
Why? We got a PS4 pro, PS4 slim, and Xbox one s within 3 yrs of the initial release. Besides isn’t this just rumored to be an updated (and hopefully more battery efficient) LCD?
I am a Nintendo fanboy. I first cut my teeth with them back in 1986 with the NES. But, I’ve never ever understood the juvenile mentality of having to be against another game company because you like another. When my friends in 1st grade got a master system and then the genesis, I wanted those in my house as much as I wanted to keep the NES and SNES. When I was able to finally purchase a PS1 with some Christmas and bday money to go along with N64, i never went back to the “one system” phil...
No for either. You’re really only buying the name, but no original content. Their business model of telling stories (great for the most part) through licensed IPs obviously doesn’t work. All those licenses, Microsoft, Sony, or anyone could work directly with the owner to do a game or game series without Telltale.
I was obviously a terrible business model... not sure why they would continued on making series after series of licensed stuff. Especially when others have had some success with original content.
Apparently, through rumors, they basically lost money on everything they did outside of the first season of the WD. Batman was apparently a huge loss for them. It’s a shame, I enjoyed most the series they put out, but, it’s expensive to put out those licensed IPs.
Amen. While I’m down for this PS1 for collector purposes, it blows my mind they don’t have any PS1 games to buy/redownload on the PS4. I have to imagine theres a reason for it, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is.
I can’t even fathom the amount of 3rd party licensing issues they’re probably going through to try and get most of good/great games on this dang thing.
Heyyyy 21 yrs later and FFVII finally arrives on a Nintendo home console.
First and foremost Spider-Man as console exclusive was a unique situation with Sony and Marvel having a business relationship with that IP. Meaning that Marvel (Disney) would prefer to bring their IPs to the masses/multiplat if available to do so. It would take a lot of money or a smaller Marvel franchise to go exclusive, particularly just for Xbox.
Does Sony own or have a partnership with Marvel on any other IPs like Spider-Man? I know this one was a special arrangement due to that partnership. I wonder if Sony still has rights to Ghostrider?
@mastercornholio what JEECE said. And battlefront was probably the wrong example to use as Insomniac and EA are two extremely different developers.
Some tariffs can be beneficial to a country, mostly depending on what resource or economic advantage they may to protect a certain industry. Agriculturally, tariffs can help protect domestic farming from countries who may have significant advantages to producing certain types of food.
All that being said, the tariff policies the US are enforcing are really only going to help a select few small industries (employed) vs the overall damage it will do to the average consumer. While th...
I mean predicting a massive success for this wasn't exactly hard. You have one the hottest and most popular IPs in the world, coupled with it appealing to just about every age group, on the worlds highest selling console. Insomniac has always been a decent to great developer and outside of Battlefront debacle, this game was always going to be a high seller.
What does this weekend have to do with this game being released 5 months ago?
Is this just saying selected “Nintendo” titles or all titles? I mean wouldn’t other titles just release a patch to add the function?
Man that takes me back, I could never get the online service to connect on the Dreamcast... lousy dial-up internet.
Given the install numbers and the significantly downward shift in vr units sold, I would say be patient until hardware progresses a bit further.
