Except the comments do not contradict.

See Shottyatlaw's comment above:

@Overload

And yet a 3-4 year hardware cycle with forwards and backwards compatibility makes both of these quotes clear and true. You know, sort of like exactly what was confirmed by Sony and MS recently...

Here, I'll break it down a bit for you since you seem confused:

This emerging "mid-gen upgrade" is quite s...

That's the point

Scorpio tech is late 2017

If Neo launches as per the rumours (late 2016 to early 2017) it will not have the Scorpio's tech and power.

3530d ago 0 agree3 disagreeView comment

So what does that say about a 4TF Neo?

3530d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

Lot's of good info

They didn't mention that MS will provide an adapter for Kinect.

The S will have the advantage of launching first, in August, with High Dynamic Range and a terrific price, I haven't done the research but others have said no other device provides 4K content at this price point.

Scorpio will be the console for the most demanding console gamers with 4k resolution.

A great feature is the fac...

So true

MS will take Visa or MasterCard whether it's for Xbox or PC.

And the catch is it must be Windows 10 to play.

As the author points out, there are still numerous reasons that ppl will stay with consoles, otherwise COD wouldn't sell 20m+ every year. ppl like their consoles and Scorpio will be the King.

And if you have a monster PC you'll want the best in VR so there's Oculus, which also works on...

Yes, announce MS games will be out in the near future, Most of Sony's games are in development with no release dates.

The X1S will play new games at High Dynamic Range. Launches first in August at a great price. Also plays 4K video at a price nothing else can match making it an absolute steal.

Scorpio will be the best performance on console. Get the PC version free when you buy the Scorpio version. Switch back and fourth seamlessly with your prog...

I read your comments on the length of time it is taking before Scorpio's release.

But you seem to be unaware that 5 of the 8 games Sony showed are in development and may not be out until after Scorpio releases.

Unlike the MS conference where 7 of the 8 games shown will be out in the next 9 months.

Seems pretty simple

The S will be the first console to release and at a very reasonable price. Tempting to get the $299 version and use an external HDD for true portability as we can now switch back and forth from console to PC seamlessly and keep our progress. Great to have options.

I would like to see a incentive program so ppl can upgrade to Scorpio for the Ultimate console gaming experience. I imagine MS will be as aggressive with Scorpio's pri...

Let me help you

The S will have High Dynamic Range
The S will play 4K video content
Still has the IR Blaster.

Much, much more than simply a smaller package.

And let's not forget, starting at $299. No doubt it will also support external HDD.

@ Harrison, so in about 5 months then, great

How about clearing up the confusion on the release dates for 5 of the games Sony showed at E...

High praise to say he didn't want the session to end, describing it as the perfect gaming moment.

I expect this to set the benchmark this gen just as the previous version have.

I believe the S will be first to market and at the lowest rice.

Win,win

3530d ago 1 agree15 disagreeView comment

That's an unusual statement coming from you.

I mean your comment history shows you saying that you can easily discern differences in resolution and that the difference between 900p and 1080- is night and day.

You also suggest Xbox owners take eye exams.

You of all ppl should be first in line for Scorpio.

3530d ago 5 agree4 disagreeView comment

The only mixed messages are those coming from ppl that have no plans to buy a MS product,

Example

Message 1...I will put my $$ toward a gaming PC

Message 2, same user...Who's can to afford a PC that can run Oculus Rift.

The actual message is clear:

Best console performance...Scorpio, and get a free PC game when you buy a Scorpio game
Best VR...Oculus, and Oculus can be used on PC, Scorp...

It appears to be the S that has the headstart.

@ cleft5

Here is the funny part

You are the exact person I'm talking about:

Going to get a PS4 this year thinking Neo is holiday 2017.

But articles are popping up saying Neo comes out within 6 months.

You would be uninformed and waste your funds courtesy of information being withheld.

3531d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

That makes no sense

What would the reveal look like?

"here's the console playing games, but it's not taking advantage of the power"

"It will look better later; really"

How about trying to be realistic?

3531d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

You haven't been paying attention.

Games will be scaled to work on all devices.

Scorpio will run like a decent rig.

Adoption will be high for those who prefer to game on console and want the best experience. That includes the best VR experience courtesy of Oculus.

3531d ago 5 agree5 disagreeView comment

If a product is to released in the next 6 months shouldn't consumers have been informed so they can make an informed decision?

Something like;

"hey, here is something coming in a few months that may better meet your needs"

3531d ago 27 agree52 disagreeView comment

So they change the console and then have to tell their studios to wait for new development kits to change the games.

Meaning more

-programming
-debugging
-testing

all before beginning production.

So basically it's a 2017 release now at enormously increased costs.

$700 Neo confirmed
