Even with this off screen view it looks good and a great deal of fun.
Looks like they may have hit the sweet spot of not having to much new stuff and not being stagnant.
As requested, note the same situation for Amazon and Bestbuy:

Agree, especially with the pre-orders on the S doing so well.
I'm wondering if the original X1 will be phased out and the S will become the standard X1?
I suppose they could keep the original as a low cost alternative.
I'm going with the statement from the CFO on this...
That being that the decline in revenue is result of a decline in sales of the 360 and the drop in price of the X1.
Makes sense since it was recently "announced" that 360 production was shutting down and we all know the price of consoles has dropped resulting in a predictable drop in revenue.
It actually seems quite impressive that the revenue is only down 9% as I think t...
Based on Gamestops's report, it seems X1S is pre-ordering very well.
I think we need to combine the information that we have...
So Xbox S seems to be pre-ordering very well
and
a lot of commenters said they would get a gaming PC to play Xbox games
Therefor we must conclude that the UWP is a huge success and firing on all cylinders.
Physical and digital sales will be ginormous.
The segment is very much in the black at $8,900,000,000 in revenue (no sugar coating required). Operating income increased 59% due to lower operating expenses.
I'm going with the statement of the CFO especially considering her reference to the 360 which has ceased production and the price reduction on the X1.
I just tried to change my tag to Major Nelson but I guess he must have logged in within the last 5 years.
You have to laugh at the disconnect between the headlines and the truth.
In reality "revenue" is down 9%, not sales.
Which is exactly what anyone would expect when the price of a product drops.
If the product drops 10% in price then revenue drops 10%.
Looking at the price drops of the X1 I'd say it's very impressive that revenue is only down 9% as dropping from $400 to $350 and then to $300 is over 2...
While this genre is somewhat more prevalent on PC I feel it's underrepresented on console.
So great that console gamers will have an opportunity for more diversity.
Always amazed to see the legs on some games.
Coming up on a year old soon and Halo 5 and Forza 6 still in the top 30.
And ROTR is in the top 40
*********Console gamers don't want "hardware options" with their consoles. We want one console that plays all relevant games equally well.********
Please extend your thought process to the Neo so I can better understand what you mean?
So what does that say about a 4TF console's capabilities?
ppl who use steam have PC's, it's funny to think that they would migrate to the Steam Box.
ppl who use Xbox, are console gamers, they bought 130m+ boxes from MS already since 2001.
They already sent Xbox One S up the Amazon charts.
Console gamers will do what they have always done on Xbox, migrate to the next console in larger numbers (only PS had a negative generation, and it was when Xbox more than tripled it's sales)
Actually the headstart goes to Xbox One S launching in August.
The Scorpio in 2017.
That fact the ppl are talking about PS5; that is, a console that is 2 consoles announcements away (neo first), tells me that MS has hit a home run.
Wow
after all this time
Halo 5, and
Forza 5
still in the top 20
Not if the rumours are true and it launches this year, meaning in less than 6 months.
That would mean a huge loss
New development kits would have to be sent out.
All the progress developers have made would have to be redone.
Contracts would have to be broken.
You may wish to recheck your source as stating that hardware "sales" are down 33% is incorrect.
It is in fact hardware "revenue", which the CFO has stated is mostly attributed to the 360 and lower X1 price.
