That is because compared to every other Metroid game Other M is absolute rubbish.
I still need to finish slogging through that game so I can have a complete opinion. From what I have seen I can honestly state that Other M doesn't hold a candle to the rest of the games in the series.
So whats next? Are these guys going to break into air traffic control and reprogram a plane to 'land' on Howard Stringer's estate? This is getting way out of hand. This is just cyber terrorism now.
This makes me sad but lets try to look at it in a positive light. Now the launch lineup for games should be both larger and better developed.
Also given the popularity of the original psp it would only make sense to launch in Japan first. Even given the recent situation over there I think they would outsell either Europe or the States.
The first Mega Man game I played was #4 so for me at least I think its the best. However I got to play all of them on the anniversary collection and I must admit I didn't care much for the first two in the series, they were just too featureless (compared to the later ones at least).
Its odd that the author mentioned that 3 was the most difficult of the series. Because #2 is the only one of the original 8 that I was unable to beat, just couldn't kill Willy at the end...
It would be cool if you could hook your psp up to your ngp and put a digital copy of a umd game on the ngp. They would have to have some sort of online digital signature specific to that copy of the game though, so people couldn't just give away tons of copies to friends.
I finally beat this blasted game once I used an emulator with save state. I farthest I ever got without it was the surf board stage and that was with warping. After dying probably literally 300 times I beat the game.
I just can't imagine the amount of practice you would need to beat this without cheating in some way (lets not count the 5 lives codes at the start as cheating though). My hats off to anyone who ever beat this game legit.
It was nice to see the story behind the surprise ending but I don't know if it was really worth 10 bucks. Plus the parts with Laura on Paladin difficultly were pretty ridiculous. If you watch the cut scenes on youtube you really won't be missing much imo, as the story clips were the best part.
I think super metroid broke more boundaries for its time than other m.
One thing that really bothered me about other m was the controls, I never felt like I was aiming my cannon. It seemed like if you were facing the correct direction it autoaimed to target the enemy. Also the voice acting is laughable, I haven't heard any that cheesy since the beginning of the ps2 era.
You just called my favorite game this generation a bag of wank. Take your hate elsewhere please.
For what? The third one? Its like 20 bucks right now, if your a gamer that enjoys the genre there is no reason not to pick it up. Unless you don't own a ps3...
Finally someone gets it! A game with good single player shouldn't need a tacked on multiplayer. Although I might not have argued with split-screen coop with nightwing or somesuch.
I still remember buying this game on release (psx) because I thought it was going to be as good as the original SNES title, I was absolutely disgusted with my purchase. I gave it to my 10 years younger sister, she liked it. Call me elitist but I really though this game was a mere shadow of the greatness of Secret of Mana.
This is just a summation of the edge article. There is a article already floating around n4g that links over to the scans.
Anyway...
After seeing so many shooters with guns and flak jackets and power armor it is nice to see a game where the enemy design is so oddball and unique. I think that's the main thing I enjoyed the most in Demon's Souls, its like a breath of fresh air in this generation's game folio. Based on what I saw in the scans From is looki...

Also it adding more rpg into the equation sounds all to the good. I like the idea of more control of my character ...
Yea any of the Black phantom versions of the npcs were friggin redonkulus difficult. For the ones I could I did the clever rat/morion blade archery trick so I didn't get owned.
One of my annoyances was when the game would dc me from the server but not psn. I would have my friend telling me the location of his SS and I couldn't find it anywhere, then I would look around--see no ghosts or messages--and be like doh! I got disconnected.
I'm sure the 'fat' that got trimmed is going to be in the 'beefier' dlc. I guess that will make a crappy hot dog or some such lol. Calling this game an action rpg is also a bit of a stretch.
Oh good God! This guy cries us a river of frustration for this game. I'm sorry but a person isn't going to spend over 90 hours on a game that's not enjoyable unless that person is just a masochist.
By the time I beat the game for the first first time I had learned the ropes well enough that the 2nd play through was way easier. Also if your not willing to kill a few npcs your gear may suck. Even with subpar gear you can stay alive with friends. Co-op rocks o...
I'm not sure. I guess you should buy it and let us all know, just to make sure.
I don't understand why people hate on this game so much, its like people enjoy hating on jrpgs now days.
Bethesda would like to thank all the beta testers that picked this game up a launch. Its through their continued support that the goty edition will be *almost* bug free.
