Neither platform is doing bad. The only difference is that last gen, only Sony did well. Nintendo (GameCube) and Microsoft (Xbox) did poorly.
What's happening now?
Sony is still doing well. Microsoft and Nintendo are too.
I've been an exclusive Sony gamer since PS1 simply because that branch of gaming serves me best. I still can't deny that M$ and Nintendo have caught up....which means more competition between the Big 3 and mo...
How does rebooting this franchise equate to whether or not it will be a good game?
This game could've been re-made as Devil May Marshmallow Man....so what? Everyone here is b*tching about it being not the original Dante. All I care about is if the game is going to be any FUN.
It's like saying "Wow, this is actually a stellar piece of software. BUUUT, it's not Capcom's Dante so I'm giving it a 1 out of 10."
Douc...
And we're all gonna buy it anyway. :-(
So I guess whether or not this game will be fun is totally irrelevant?
The entire Devil May Cry series does. Bayonetta was split into Missions as well. Batman Arkham City and Arkham Asylum have text popping up that missions are complete.
Mass Effect is also mission based. Etc etc, so on and so on....
How the F does one make a grand assumption of a 60hour experience based on a 1 hour demo.
WTF for? PS3 is just fine, im getting so much out of it. I don't feel the need to upgrade to a new gen system at all.
Bring more games, more content, more apps. I don't even want to hear about another system for another 3 to 5 years minimum.
SKIPPING!
Wow, it's amazing what this kind of uprage a headline like this causes.
iPhone vs Droid, Kindle vs Nook.....I mean at the end of the day, whichever you choose, there's enough to go around.
Yeesh.
SO basically, this article is saying that both consoles are about neck and neck, and whichever one has a higher sales number, this number is negligible.
I think the definition of RPG since the dawn of gaming till now is "This is Gonna Be Long and Tedious."
But of course, the purpose is meant to be fun. Easy to do in a 5 hour game, a bit more challinging if your game is 10 to 12. But a 60hr experience?
It's why RPG's are such a niche genre. Commercial success, but niche. And in reality, the only gamers truly dedicated to an RPG or even an MMO commitment, are the hardcorest of core.
...
Ending could've been more epic in ME2. Never played ME1. Otherwise the game itself (60hrs for me) was epic overall.
Looking fwd to ME3.
<--also black, and hip hop gamer was one of the WORST news articles on this site.
I could care less abt the color of his skin. He was just a sh*tty journalist.
But of course, to each his own. There is definitely a market for "Androgynous Unfitting to the Storyline Anime Characters Part XIII".
I guess they wouldn't be making them if there wasn't a demographic for it. The fact that they are known to be struggling financially to a degree however, doesn't indicate to me a sense of good business practices.
The more of that happening....the more likely we won't get any games from them at all....
Western style RPGs have really wiped out any last remaining preferences I had growing up playing J-RPGs.
Yes, the in-game, action-RPG gameplay makes this a much more interactive experience that I'm most excited about, but the West has just birthed out so many devs, all who make RPGs in every gameplay style.
Unless this game pulls a BioWare or a Bethesda style maneuver (which it won't b/c they are Square Enix) then I highly doubt another installment of...
Mass Effect series was literally the only game on the 360 I was interested in.
Since the release of ME2, I'm glad my wishes were answered. Had it not been for that though....I wouldn't have ever played it.
Although it is one of the best games I've ever played, I wouldn't have paid hundreds of dollars for a new system just to try it.
Totally irrelevant post, but whatever I'll say it.....
When the Uncharted visual team and the God of War visual team combine forces to create the ultimate game engine.....the world will explode.
Let's wait for some gameplay. We can't say this game is going to be awesome. There is one statement, and one statement only that we can say with validity:
Naughty Dog makes the best LOOKING games this gen.
Outside of that....we still gotta wait.
Wow, really?
Uncharted 3 looked noticeably better than 1 and 2...but I'm also running my PS3 on an expensive HDTV.
I know that the display can greatly affect a game's visual experience (a la display TV's for all 3 consoles at Walmart)
Loved Fahrenheit and thought Heavy Rain was pretty awesome.
Obviously we know nothing about the gameplay...and as much as everyone is raving about the graphics (yes they are awesome) it's the CONCEPT i'm in love with!
Love when the medium pushes emotion like this. Makes me proud to game.
