Way to show once again that n4g crowd are completely clueless about MMORPGs (7 agrees at the time of typing).
Seriously you think $15 a month is dead? Not by a long shot! Many MMO gamers would rather pay a monthly fee for a premium service. People talk about how great GW2 will be being f2p and all but cash shop advantages plus the fact all the kids will be attracted to it seeing as they won't need Daddy's credit card has me more than a little worried.
1.3m subscribers and you think TOR will go F2P with that much money coming in each month? I don't get where this obsession with the f2p model has come from but take it from me as an MMO gamer of over 10 years, TOR won't be going f2p for at least a year.
Lol EA won't let them. Unless they believe that they are directly losing money from people unhappy with gold sellers, then to them it's just a waste of resources.
Nah it isn't totally bad, it's just that it was good like back when cod 4 came out.. now it's just stagnated and failed to evolve like other fps series.
Would be excited for a family guy game but not even a license as epic as that will convince me to hand over money to activision. Hopefully it'll come out on PC and I can download it.
I hope for Activision's sake that Respawn's game isn't a Sci Fi shooter. Sci Fi shooters allow for a lot more creative freedom for developers to come up with stuff when they don't have to adhere to the confines of modern day weapons/technology. Giving the people who made cod what it is today unrestricted creative freedom to create such a shooter, my hype meter will explode.
That's quite a low number for a blizzard game. Also what about WoW Annual Pass holders? I guess you technically can't label them as "sales" but the number of the holders is widely though to be over a million.
I think it's the greatest thing added to a football game since online functionality. It's not without it's faults though and once you get to the highest level of play it can be a very frustrating experience especially when it's 11v11.
Wow Mark Lamia, way to go butcher the term innovating.
Personally I don't think all that much is wrong with JRPGs. I agree with what one of the posters above said that the older FF games (7-10) were amazing and introduced many gamers to the genre and simply put, we don't have any JRPGs these days which are of that standard that can bring in a new generation.
Also in England at least, gaming has become so much more mainstream over here in the last five years.. most gamers just don't care for slow paced 40+ hours of st...
Oblivion though is a fantasy sandbox game and shares very little in common with JRPGs. It's a great solo game but it lacks the story, emotion, imagination and set pieces that are commonly associated with JRPGs.
Hilarious tbh, the ripoff Fifa 12 DLC now this.. it's as if the execs at EA held a board meeting to discuss why their company was voted worst in America and ended up coming to the conclusion that they might as well use the opportunity to go fuck over their fans some more. Absolutely pathetic.. I never had a high opinion of EA but this is worse than even I could imagine.
2/10? Come on regardless of what the hell it is, "sexy hot poker bikini" deserves at least 3/10 for the name alone.
Was just to say the same thing.. if you want the beta of Blops 2 go play the original Blops or MW3.
Lol this article goes to show just how biased and stupid some people on this site are. The guy isn't a criminal.. he was never found guilty of committing a crime and by law that means he isn't a criminal.
You can take your biased attitude either way you want.. you could say he was promoting piracy and cost Sony a lot of money or you could say he was just tinkering around with a piece of hardware he bought but facts are facts and the fact here is he isn't a crimina...
What actual crime did he commit? The guy is smart and is better off helping companies like Sony than being in jail.. save jailspace for the real criminals like rapists, murderers and bankers.
The general feeling is that EA ripped off their fans big time by releasing not only a bug ridden product but heavily watered down one too. No online mode for expedition, no play a friend option, only one online mode and a whole range of other little things which ruined the whole thing.
I bought it at the first moment I could, played it for 30 minutes disgusted by what I saw and haven't played it since.
Yeah and it'll be a third person action game.
A Japanese focused game that's released in the west? Surprising would be an understatement if that was the case.
I was thinking exactly this when I first took the time to look at the game last night... after watching the IGN review I instantly went out and ordered it off ShopTo because it impressed me so much and is one of the few shooters these days which can actually say it's really trying something innovative.
Sadly though, such games seem lost on Microsoft. Even if they were going to take a gamble at a new IP that isn't Kinect shovelware *gasp* they wouldn't take such a...
