I may have played this on PS3 but it's been so long I don't recall. I would surely play it again though.
I plan to upgrade to a PS5 first. I can play any Xbox exclusive on my PC or my X1x. I don't see a need to upgrade to the XsX at launch.
Sony didn't have to play anyone to figure this out. They just listen to developments studios and their consumers to see what they want. Others want to build a whole new market thinking they can lure or drag everyone there. Stadia is not relevant today or in the near future.
@Captain if you think MS or Google can lose a trillion dollars you really don't understand business. I'd surely say PS is more important to Sony than XB is to MS. MS would not hesitate to c...
Current gen, X1X had a TFlop advantage over PS4 Pro. It didn't matter. Both will be more than capable consoles hardware wise with each having advantages over the other. So we're left with the games and existing install base. Sony has a huge advantage here. It's an uphill battle for MS. MS will not suddenly reverse marketshare trends because of a TFlop advantage. XsX is a good console. I will own one someday but my first purchase is without a doubt a PS5.
I feel like I really got played by Sony all these years. All I had was great game after great game even in the year the next gen console is slated to launch. Oh what fools we have all been.
Well that is good to hear regarding the Gamescon award. Game looks good, regardless if it's GoTY or not.
I've never played a Wasteland title but I will give this some serious consideration.
Edit: IMO, premature for the video voice over person to consider this RPG of the year already, especially when Cyberpunk is coming out later this year.
It’s telling how sensitive Xbox fans are because of one tech demo. It’s all Xbox execs and fans have talked about all week. Xbox doth protest too much, methinks.
I guess that UE5 demonstration on PS5 really has struck a nerve with MS. Their marketing team and some websites sure seem to be defensive about this.
As many have said before, I will buy a PS5 and keep my gaming PC since MS puts their exclusives on PC. If the exclusive is worth playing then at least I have the option without needing to buy the console.
The difference here is that Xbox with their X1 reveal and years of lackluster 1st party titles gave many many people a reason to switch. If it was a TFlop metric issue then why did everyone not jump ship to move to X1X? MS is facing an uphill battle unless Sony were to make it easier and deliver a lackluster product. That is unlikely.
She said "honoring Joel and Ellie" in the video. We shall see if that is true.
Yep the results will speak for themselves. As they said, UE5 will scale to all platforms. But that could mean for other platforms it has to scale down in some aspects.
The prices are less significant to me. I have a large library of PS4 games which I intend to keep playing. I know people on PSN. I can't think of anything MS could say or do to cause me to dump that years of investment. And frankly, I am confident Sony will continue to deliver high quality. So there is no reason to switch.
From a purely marketing perspective, you need a crowd cheering and hyped. This pales in comparison to previous staged events like E3 or the like. A hyped crowd, execs on stage, great gameplay reveals. Unfortunately, due to e3 being canceled and the pandemic going on, such events really lose their hype appeal. And to make matters worse the reveal was less than expected from a content perspective. Compare what's being done marketing wise today to the Sony E3 PS4 reveal or 2016 event with t...
Both the XsX and the PS5 will do 4K. Perhaps XsX could do 70 fps versus 60. But most 4K tvs don't even refresh that high. And even if it did I think it is doubtful someone could tell the difference. The clear difference this gen is the storage solution being NVMe with custom controllers. Sony has a distinct advantage there. For me it's PS5 day 1. Nothing on Xbox which I can't play on pc.
A function of engineering and artistic resources. Clearly a much smaller company with fewer financial resources at their disposal. Could still be fun.
Yes I fully expect many 3rd party studios who develop a title to be played on both consoles will design for lowest common denominator. That will limit data streaming design capabilities to that which the XsX can perform. Sony 1st party will exploit the capabilities of their console more fully and this game design will allow for capabilities not easily enabled in XsX 1st party. Fortunately engines such as UE5 will incorporate platform specific features such as those in PS5. Thus 3rd parties co...
