My console of choice will be PS5 and continue to use my PC. There is no compelling reason for me to buy an XsX anytime soon.
You should really consider PS5 first then. What have you got to lose? Great games pedigree and a strong lineup for PS5. I've known several friends make the switch this gen to PS4 and they don't regret it.
I am loving the game. Well worth the price paid. What a fine way to send off PS4 exclusive games. Next stop PS5!
I paid $2 for 14 months of GP Ultimate during a promotion last year. I can tell you at this point I will not renew it early next year. I don't see why I'd pay $15/month every month for the service. At best I will subscribe for a month to play a game then unsub. So MS claiming they have 10 million GP subscribers is misleading. Many of them are current promotional level subscribers like me. How many will they retain once the promotion ends?
If there are no exclusive AAA 1st party games for XsX then why even release a new console? I think MS is releasing the XsX merely to have a new console at the same time Sony does but for no other reason. And it is for certain that if MS is peddling Gamepass, they need content for it. So their studios will need to build product which keeps thast business model profitable. They are not going to make big budget games across the board for $10-$15 per month and make money. No thanks. Glad they will make another Fable game. I hope it turns out to actually release compared to the previous Fable game which was canceled. But I wouldn't expect to see this for 2 - 4 years.
I have no doubt the animation and perhaps the gameplay of TLoU2 are superb. It's just not a story I am interested in seeing / playing. I really enjoyed the orig TLoU though. The story will have to end there for me.
Again, X1x had a power advantage for a couple of years. It made no difference for MS marketshare. PS4 continued to outsell. It won't be a power advantage which generates sales. It'll be the games available on the platform. Sony is not going to be bested by a games lineup from MS. It won't happen. People invested in PS4 today will not jump ship to XB because of a power advantage, they will likely buy a PS5.
I’d agree that MS has seemingly made some positive changes with the 1st party studios. Let’s see if they let them have the creative freedom and time to make great games. My hope is they produce a few great new IPs. My fear is they produce mediocre content to pad game pass content. Time will tell.
My copy arrives today. Really looking forward to playing this tonight. A nice way to end Sony Studio PS4 exclusives.
I liked BotW very much. I get the feeling I will also like playing Ghosts of Tsushima just as much. I'm looking forward to playing tomorrow.
I see no need to upgrade my X1X then. I'll buy a PS5 this fall / winter and when there is a XB game I really want to play I'll use my PC or the X1X.
I really think both consoles will be very good technically speaking. For me, it'll be PS5 day 1 though. It's where most of my online friends are heading plus I like Sony exclusive content. XsX maybe at some point in the future. For the time being I can use my PC for MS exclusives.
Just bear in mind R* put this in the game initially. Removing it is more a reaction. Had R* decided to keep this in the game, I doubt you'd be defending developer's creative freedom.
R* is certainly free to do what they please. I guess games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein by iD are soon to be removed as well.

This is the type of game where a Steam review by users showing hours played is helpful. I have no real trust in sites like IGN nor would I trust reviews by people who claim to have played the game and haven't. Unfortunately there is no such mechanism showing verified hours played other than Steam. Within a week of the game's release we will hear what gamers really think of the game. I will wait to hear some honest thoughts. I've waited this long. No need to rush now.

At the end of the day it will be about the games. We know for sure Sony will bring the games. It remains to be seen what MS does. MS can't afford to release exclusives like Crackdown 3 and expect to compete.
Ok XsX is 'better'. I am buying a PS5.
