Seeing as how we've never seen or heard anything about the new IP, it's not a big loss for gamers. It sucks that all those people lost their jobs though.
MS can just shutup about it. They don't have to say anything. The hardware can't handle what the PS4 can. That's not up to the devs. That's like saying Naughty Dog sucks because The Last of Us doesn't run at 1080/60 locked with every particle and lighting effect imagineable on the PS3.
Unless every one of the games you listed as prime examples of why Edge sucks was reviewed by the same person, you have no leg to stand on. Bottomline, they played it. You didn't. You can't judge.
It's a foregone conclusion. PS4 will outsell XB1. There's no point speculating. The gap is just going to get wider.
EA is definitely kicking themselves but they deserve it. Why would they put their support behind the XB1 after all the crap it went through. If this deal was done way before that, how could they be so short sighted as to think that Sony wouldn't come out guns blazing after the PS3's slow start. And it's not like Sony has ever lost a generation to MS.

Even before the PS4 launched Mark Cerny (PS4's architect) said that devs would easily be able to get what they wanted out of it very early on, but there's still a lot of hidden power that can be leveraged once they wrap their heads around how to use it.
So once/if XB1 devs can get games running at 1080/60, PS4 devs will be well on their way to learning other tricks to push their games even further.

The demo was mediocre. Visually it looked great but the gameplay wasn't anything to write home about. The platforming was hit and miss and the game design was so repetitive and unimaginative, and it was just the demo!
You can't seriously make the player pause on a bolt and move away at the last second to have the enemy's attack break it off and then do it again, and again.
Then move up to the next area and have to do it again, and again, and agai...
Totally agree. Just in the short demo the repetitiveness and unimaginative game design was enough to make me delete the demo even before finishing it. Plus the terrible platforming.
The section where you have to climb up to get to the 3 bolts is a prime example. There's a clear path upwards but you can't make him go up higher than halfway. You have to make him move horizontally first before going up again. Why?
The demo was terrible. It actually had at least three sections where you have to pause on a steel bolt (3 times a section) so the enemy can shoot to destroy it. THREE! I exited the game and deleted it right there.
Not to mention the absolutely horrid platforming sections.
4 of the 6 are also on PS4. Titanfall being the only awesome game of the two exclusives. But you can swap that out for Infamous Second Son. Add another week and PS4 gets DriveClub and MLB '14 The Show.
