Sorry to break it to you but MS wouldn't have caught up at $350. As shocking as it may seem, XB1 outselling PS4 in NA doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things because the PS4 outsells the XB1 everywhere else. The loss in NA is more than made up for elsewhere.
I can't see how selling 18.5 million consoles, fastest in gaming history, and outselling their main competition 2:1 isn't impressive.
How else does one define success?

Counting up the sales numbers is the only way to measure success when a company is selling a tangible piece of hardware. The fact that WiiU sales were terrible means that their games did not in fact outshine their rivals.
The fact that the WiiU sold so poorly is clear evidence that it was not the "console to have."
If a game has undergone significant changes, it should be reviewed again. Why? Because the review should be used to judge the current state of the game which will inform people to purchase or not purchase it. A perfect example is Diablo 3. At launch it was a mess but now it's a completely different experience. You're going to refuse to review it again when the game is unrecognizable from when it launched? Doesn't seem logical.

Whatever it is, it doesn't look fun to play. The videos released so far make it look like all you do is grind back and forth on wires while shooting enemies below you. That's the main mechanic.
The number of enemies is impressive except for the fact that they're all mindless drones just standing there.
Seeing as how Straley and Druckman are behind Uncharted 4 (and Uncharted 2 - best in the series), you have nothing to worry about in terms of story, gameplay, or characters.
