It feels like it's been in development for ages, I honestly thought it had already been released and just died.
@Just_looken
Digimon Survive was a very different type of game compared to previous Digimon games, I think that caused a bit of division with the fan base since it's quite dark and more of a visual novel/TBS game. Then again, Digimon seems to like dividing up it's fan base a lot for some reason, I think it's been a while since they had a hit, especially in the west. Video games is probably the only consistent thing Digimon puts out these days, especially if we c...
...This game is still in development?
It's also really annoying how they can cut or change content later, like the Skull Girls controversy, a decade later after the game came out, they decide to censor it. The game is a decade old, if it's not broken, leave it, adding DRM back into older games is BS.
@Neonridr,
I never said the Steam Deck was a leader, there's heaps of handhelds that surpass it performance-wise, actually, I think almost all of the handheld PCs beat it. I'm pretty sure the Steam Deck is the cheapest option with the best battery performance, and I'm pretty sure Nintendo isn't going to spend more money than Valve making a hybrid (plus Nintendo likes to make a good profit on hardware).
I really can't see Nintendo making somethin...
The Steam Deck OLED is somewhere between a base PS4 and a PRO, closer, moreso to a base model. I expect the Switch to get close to, but probably be weaker than a PS4, although I think it'll upscale like the PS4 PRO's checker boarding does, but it'll use Nvidia's upscaling tech most likely.
It's not going to be as powerful as the Steam Deck, Nintendo has not been a leader in performance for the past few gens plus.
I ordered my Steam Deck earlier this week, it should turn up early this week coming, super excited for it.
I haven't played this one yet, so I'll be looking forward to it, the first one was one of the few open world game I could actually enjoy.
I wonder if they'll loose their sh*t like PUBG did when Fortnite unseated them as top battle royale, although I don't believe Nintendo is that worried, I think they're more scared of their brand image being ruined by "Pokemon with guns".
They will aggressively protect their IPs and sue at the drop of a hat though, that's why it's rare to see mods, remember when BeatEmUps lost his ambassador role with Nintendo after streaming Zelda with mods? I...
@Vengeance1138,
In Japan? Yeah, I'd agree, but it's barely there in the west, Pokemon just dominates the monster genre.
@Just_looken,
They're still releasing Digimon animes, the last one just finished up last year (don't know if it had a shortened run, or if they actually did intend to end it there). Digimon survive, the game, only came out in 2022, which wasn't that long ago, Digimon just isn't the media juganught that Pokemon is. ...
I seriously believe that some of these lay offs are in preparation for AI to be integrated into their work flow, and I still think we're not ready for it, there are still a lot of governments across the world that haven't even thought about laws regarding AI.
I can't even remember the last time I used Ebay, that place went gone downhill, now I end up buying off other online stores or Amazon.
These days, when I see all this greed, I think it's all coming to a head, I feel like some bad major event will happen to the world in the future, but I don't know what.
@crazyCoconuts
Looking at stores in my own area, Xbox doesn't even have a section anywhere near as big as Nintendo or Playstation, it's almost non-existant. I wouldn't be surprised if they had been planning this for a while because that would explain the lack of presence in stores.
@darthv72
I cannot think of any Nintendo Switch case I've picked up that didn't have a physical disc/cartridge in it, that must be an incredibly small number...
For me personally, I dislike how they keep layering so many systems on top of each other, when you don't play every entry, you get completely overwhelmed trying to get back into a set fighting franchise.
Despite their flaws, I actually enjoyed Arceus and Violet/Scarlet, hopefully they can fix up some of those minor mistakes for the next entry.
@RaidenBlack,
I don't know if i'd lump Titanfall 2 into that list since it's primarily a online multi-player game with a really good single player campaign tacked on. Plus the multi-player received updates for a decent while after despite being dead on arrival. I'm still salty about how it was sent out to die like that.
I dislike shorter games, especially at full price, but I abhor pointless padding, I'd rather a fun 10 hour game, than a 20 hour game with a 10 hour slog just to finish the main story.
The first Hellblade was about the same length, so I guess it's in line with expectations.
No surprise, Nintendo doesn't seem to have any ground to stand on when it comes to suing Palworld, there are enough differences for it to be it's own thing. Now, modding Pokemon into the game definitely infringes on their IP, and they probably don't want Pokemon to be associated with Palworld or guns/abuse, I can see the fun in it, but it was not a good idea on the modder's part.
If Nintendo has taught us anything, it's best to quietly release it and let...
I can't even remember when I had to swap discs, I don't believe the modern versions of the game even indicate a disc swap (e.g. PS4, Switch, PC, ect...).
