Leaks suggest that the FES content is DLC, for me, that makes up for the lack of it in the original release.
If I had a PS5, I'd buy it day one just for that alone.
I wish we could just ignore it, ESG in gaming has become so prevalent now, you don't know whether that was the original intent or if it was edited to fit in with ESG standards, so frustrating. Although to be fair, some people see such things when there is none, which I've noticed has also been more common now.
I would have blamed their pricing scheme ($115/$120 for a new game? Charging out the butt for the Etrain HD Remasters? Charging extra for New Game Plus?), but some of those games did well anyway. None of the titles mentioned in Q3 exactly set my world on fire, I didn't purchase any of them, maybe no one else did either?
I loved it, no surprise it did well because there's nothing like it and the fans have been starved of a new game for 10 years. It also helps that the game is fun and complete, no DLC/micro transactions or season passes either, which is typical of From Software games, I can't wait for Armored Core 7!
I forgot to finish downloading this yesterday (I didn't have time to finish downloading it before I left home), maybe I'll try it tonight.
The Persona series deserves this, now do the older games and P6.
I don't know how to feel about this, I'm not a big fan of modern Disney, and I've never been a fan of Epic Games (I'm still collecting those freebies though).
If physical discs were still a thing on PC, I'd be buying my favourites, especially the collectors edition, but the choice isn't even there, I'm still shocked that PC gaming went that route and so quickly.
To be fair, those discs didn't even have the full game, imagine my shock when I tried to install Doom 2016 on PC, there was surprisingly little data on the CD.
I remember when I dislocated my shoulder, playing games was possible, just painful, so I mostly stuck with JRPGs for the first few weeks.
I only really think of Layers of Fear or Observer when someone mentions Bloober Team, Medium was a bit of a flop.
It looks fun, but even Splatoon didn't have enough to keep me engaged for more than a few hours, I don't think Foam Stars will do any better.
I cannot get over pricing this stuff like a full game, why would anyone buy things like cosmetic bundles? Is there enough people purchasing it? Is that why they keep trying to sell it to us? I'm cheap AF, so I'm not buying anything more than necessary to enjoy the game.
I keep forgetting they even made these games, if it wasn't on my wishlist, I just wouldn't remember them.
I don't know why they're always surprised when turn-based games like Octopath Traveler or Bravely Default sell well, the one thing that classic Square-Enix was well-known and loved for.
They should do exactly that, I don't know why Square-Enix doesn't even try to give customers what they want, it's like they don't want money, heaps would die for remakes/remasters/ports of their favourite games, or for them to return to their older style of making FF games. Why not do a FF side game instead of mainline with turn-based combat if they're unsure? Or make another game like Bravely Default (I know the last one didn't sell well, but I can't pinpoint why ...
They only just got a new company director early last year, unless his methods are only just filtering down now after almost a year in the job (I believe he took over sometime in March?).
Can we stop talking about the "exclusivity" thing like that actually affected one of the most popular game franchises? Square-Enix has a lot of issues these days, from bad or non-existant marketing (sending out TWEWY and Guardians with no fanfare), to bad writing, to unrealistic sales goals, to lazy development: "towns are too hard to make", to drawn out/messy development times (it took 10 to make FF15, and it still wasn't finished), then look at all their failed ventu...
They should just release the game and cut their losses, they're not coming to make money back from a troubled/inefficient development process. Maybe they can make it back over multiple years if the game does alright and fans buy the DLCs/microtransactions, something I personally hate, but a common strategy for these types of games. AAA gaming is becoming enough of a joke as it is, let's not make it worse by wasting money and slapping another A on there.
