I thought this was already out and the fanfare had died, is there no hype for this game?
As much as I love FF7, they have really milked it to death, 2 compilations of FF7 which includes novels, games, mobile games, movies and animation...
They really need to put more effort into newer FF games.
I've missed his music, he really made the games, especially in the gold age of FF games, the soundtracks haven't been the same since he left (there aren't as many memorable tracks).
Imagine the shock of having African zombies in Africa, set in any other country with that populace's people, and most of the time they won't bat an eyelid or scream racism.
I only ever saw one Dreamcast, and that was one my friend owned, pity I never got to play it, I wonder what games he had for it?
It would be nice if some of those games got ported to modern systems.
I'm sure there's leeway for personal tastes, personally I score story/characters pretty highly, I can make do with mediocre gameplay as long as I have a good story/characters, but I might struggle if I have good gameplay and not very good characters or story to go with it.
If you mean the hoard of cinematic games instead of diverse genres, I would agree with you. Hollywood itself is creatively bankrupt, It's a big surprise when something like Dune, Top Gun or Oppenheimer comes out and wows us.
@GameBoyColor,
I hope not, because I don't really like Dynasty Warriors, I was over that franchise towards the end of the PS2 generation.
@S2Killinit,
It's between Microsoft and Google, the chances are one of those two will take the AI crown considering the amount of cash they're throwing at that sector. I suppose Microsoft might be the worst out of the two, but Google hasn't been exactly great compared to the old days when they threw around their old adage of "do no evil".
And they're planning to double down on this strategy instead of making something like Hogwarts Legacy, they're not going to learn until it really hurts.
I agree, I never pay for microtransactions, and in the few cases where I have, I've felt dirty afterwards, especially when older games used to give you so much content for free (like cosmetics).
I'll be excited to see what they make then, hopefully it's something really good.
They've been swallowing up a lot of AI companies too and spending big on that area.
@Tacoboto,
To be fair, Halo Infinite had a rocky start to begin with, I think they improved for a while, but fell behind again.
I said in a previous comment that it should have been one solar system or a few of them, no need for over a thousand planets. This game suffered from the extremes of "open-world syndrome" where there was too much space with too little to do in it.
I like how in BotW/TotK, they give you the basics, but leave you to work everything else out on your own, which leads to a lot of dumb experimentation on the player's part (I'm playing TotK now after finishing SS, lol). I would not be able to handle being blasted by tutorials in that game no matter how helpful.
Imagine making multiple games but having to find ways around making ladders because your engine can't handle them, limitations are one way to inspire creativity, don't think it helped them in this case though.
I think they were too ambitious, if they had reduced the scope of the game to a small solar system, (or multiple solar systems), they could have jammed more content into those limited play areas instead of having 100s upon 100s of dead planets with nothing to do on them. That would also give them more time to work on other aspects of the game (like bug fixing and sparse content), over a thousand planets sounds cool until you actually have to make them and put something interesting on most pla...
I was waiting for it to show up on steam, I didn't realise it was an Epic Games exclusive.
I'd rather it play more or less the same by have the 3D chibi graphics from Ever Crisis, I don't want them to change the story like they did with FF7R.
