At least you set the bar low for me.
Can't we just say it was Jenova? We can't be completely sure how conscious or in control Sephiroth or Jenova was (can we look this up in an ultimania or something?).
But the game has no story telling... Can't enhance a story that doesn't exist.
@Godmars290, at least World of Final Fantasy made up for it. I hope FF16 will be significantly better.
We've gone so long without competition, I'm glad AMD made such a big splash with Ryzen, the benchmarks look good, so I can't wait to see how this all pans out. If user benchmarks can confirm this, then my next build might be a Ryzen build.
Exactly, it's like running a marathon, last gen, Sony got off to a bad start but has a reasonable ending to that gen. Whereas Microsoft got a strong lead over Sony but ran out of steam towards the end. There's no reason for Sony to take and risks at this point, unfortunately I think Microsoft is going in the wrong direction and we don't know what's going to happen with the Switch but Nintendo needs to recover after the failure that was the WiiU.
The PS4 is a pretty satisfying console in most aspects, like I said before, they've got this gen locked down unless Microsoft or Nintendo throw a curve ball at them, and I can't see that happening at this point in time.
I wouldn't mind say a 3 or 4 year overlap, the PS2 and PS3 got quite a bit of support until their successor cemented their position or generation over the old one.
Give this man a cookie!
Plus people get bored of their old consoles too, hence another reason we have generations.
@GNCFLYER
I don't even the the time and money for these games, now that Asia-English ports are becoming more common (great for the Japanese games we don't normally get localized), I just have too much choice in games to play.
@ItMatters There's not a significant difference between the PS4 and Xone spec-wise this gen. Unless we start looking at the Pro vs Scorpio. The PS4 just has a significantly better library of games this gen (then again Playstation always has a strong library of games at some point in each gen).
^ This, unfortunately most people don't seem to get this line of thinking. I don't think we can expect 4K 30/60fps consoles by that time frame though due to costings. This gen and last gen already proved where the sweet spot cost wise is if you look at the PS3/360 and PS4/Xone.
I'm going to get alot of disagrees for this too, but I think 1440p or a bit higher at 60fps upscaled to 4K is a more realistic target for next gen consoles. PCs are only just dipping their feet into 4K waters as it is, most people are still happily gaming at full HD which is fine on smaller TVs and monitors. Personally I struggle with playing consoles on bigger full HD tvs, not enough detail to read text and spot enemies.
Personally I think your numbers are a little high, but it's hard to predict technology in the next few years, especially when we're having a few leaps this year and the next few years.
@mikeslemonade Consoles are always behind PCs and they always will be. They don't compete in the same space because consoles are a cheap way to game for the next 5 or so years with little to no fuss. That's their appeal because people don't want to get into the nitty gritty of designing and upgrading their PCs (they probably don't care about performance to the same degree either.
@Ron_Danger, yeah, I can see why it would appeal to some people. I have a few friends who go for trophies, I don't personally, but if I like the game, I'm more likely to go for trophies, but I never Platinum any of mine.
@MrSec84, It still wouldn't change the gameplay significantly, It's more of the same, done a little better. And I can't think of any features that I'd want on consoles that wasn't possible before (you can stream and share gameplay with the share button this gen,). I wouldn't mind a more social aspect or spin though.
@SenorFartCushion, I was the same way until I got a decent internet connection.
True, hardware-wise there isn't a great deal of difference between PS4/Xone, and Xone does have a couple of exclusives I really like (Halo/Gears), but there games lineup is getting weaker the further into this generation we get. It seems like Microsoft is too heavily focused on hardware when they should be acquiring more games (they have a pretty good online service too though).
@Fenome, I know right? I've got too many games piling up so I've started a list in notepad, hopefully after I knock out some of the games I have now, some of the games on my lift should have price drops. I really can't see a new console coming when this gen is really heating up.
