Sony said they weren't focusing on hardware for the next 3 years and there's no hardware announcements this year. I can't see it coming before 2020, but 2021 is certainly a possibility. People just want new shiny stuff all the time.
True, but I think you could make do with your phone a little longer.
@threefootwang,
Have you never owned a ps2/3? If you have the disc you can play the game in better quality with no downlaods or updates and it works flawlessly for every game. That was the best form of BC.
Oh shit yes! I've always wanted to play it, now we just need the master chief collection and the latest Halo game. I've got my fingers crossed now.
I've always owned multiple consoles and handhelds each gen, I enjoyed the 360, but I cannot in good faith say I would enjoy the Xone. That and between the pc/ps4 I have it's entire library with the exception of Halo and Sunset Overdrive.
My next purchase will be a Switch, lately I've been thinking how much I enjoy my 3ds over the Vita (I'd buy more 3ds games if they weren't so expensive). I even wondered what it would be like for Switch's portable mo...
@Rachel_Alucard,
I just get tired of explaining myself to these people, I opted out of going with my friends to the latest star wars because the previous one was so awful. Would have skipped Batman vs Superman if I knew beforehand that it was garbage ( Batfleck was by far the only good thing in that movie and even his acting can't polish a turd).
The media isn't worth listening to or reading, I don't know about your country but I don't read the newspaper or watch the news anymore. Just read the gossip magazines for fun and to socialise with everyone.
This is why I love cd project red, they're what I would call "consumer friendly", even though they could have made more money off the dlc they didn't charge for.
Oh God retail, if anything killed my faith in humanity it was working retail.
You'd be surprised, I've seen plenty of "stupid" adults, so it's not just kids. I don't believe most people put a great deal of thought into this, look how many people have little to no savings for emergencies, retirement or holidays. I think some people get a euphoria from spending, not always the enjoyment of the thing they purchased.
Unfortunately most people never learn and said companies still make mega bucks. I may boycott one game or it's dlc/lootboxes, but thousands or millions will take my place anyway and be perfectly fine with it.
@gh05t,
Alternatively don't buy the loot boxes if you do buy the game (and avoid the pay to win like the plague).
@Godmars290,
This, so much, while I'm happy gaming has become more normalised and had so many great advances, it's popularity has added just as many problems. Like poorer writing for characters and stories, favouring simplification over complexity, half-asset games, laziness (to be patched or added to later), casualisation, westernisation, ect...
With development costs rising and greed taking place, developers are resorting to shadier practices mo...
If I recall correctly they did state they were still interested in handhelds.
It's weird how stubborn people are about this when Sony already confirmed we won't have any hardware announced this year and probably none next year based on that report.
Those of us who tempered our expectations kinda knew this. I don't see it coming out in the next couple of years.
If you can get away with peddling the same product without spending on R&D then you would have less inclination to release a new one. I still think we'll see a ps5 in 2020 at earliest.
Well, anyone with half a brain should understand why the ps4 doesn't have BC, I'll be shocked if the ps5 doesn't have it. I wouldn't mind a more expensive sku with ps1/2 BC capability as well.
No reason why the ps5 won't have BC for ps4.
Confirmed no hardware announcements this year and little to no hardware focus in the next three years. You may want to revise your predictions in light of those facts.
