I'm pretty sure they have mentioned it previously, although I would like more than "we're working on it" to reassure me.
I bought the 360 last gen, but it had some great games that were hard to pass up.
... Cosplay inspiring?
I think franchise fatigue is a big issue here, the developers are tired of working on the same games. People want more, but it's just been disappointing for them, a rest and some new IPs would go a long way. Instead of resorting to the same staple series over and over again and not delivering on quality. .
@BiggerBoss,
Oh well, they have to start some time, this gen is a bit of a failure, might as well prepare for the next one.
Skull, You should really wait and see what Microsoft does, otherwise the next xbox might disappoint you as much as the Xone has this gen. On the upside I could probably sell you anything.
Anyway to be serious, I only checked out what Microsoft had so I could start writing a list of games I want on ps4. If you took out all the multi-plats, it would probably be less exciting than Sony or Nintendo's conferences, and I got what I wanted out of those two.
I don't even have the time to be addicted to video games, love them but can't play as often as I'd like. Damn adult life.
Everyone's just too excited and they have no reason to be, it'll be a longer wait than 2019, I can guarantee that much at least.
I find it shocking that TVs and consoles got HDR implemented reasonably well and PC still can't get decent HDR off the ground. All of the HDR moments out now or on the horizon are kinda crappy and Windows 10 support for the feature is awful, when I connect my pc to my 4k TV I leave the HDR setting in Windows off.
It's all speculation of course apart from what Sony or Microsoft have stated, it's just people wishing for this and that to happen regardless of how realistic it is based on little or no information they have to support their arguement.
I don't think order matters that much as long as the consoles are released relatively close together. The the ps3 eventually out performed the 360 or the 360 ran out of steam first depending on how you want to look at it.
No surprise there, Intel are so expensive and kinda held console manufacturer's to ransome on the price last time, regardless of whether Intel went well with their process, I still think everyone would go with AMD CPUs/APUs.
Or it could go the same way it did this gen with there being little difference hardware-wise between a vanilla PS4 and a vanilla Xbox1.
The ps4 still feels so young to me, it's got so much life left despite how under powered it was at release, my backlog is getting bad too, but if it keeps up when the PS releases in 2020/2021 then I can play the PS4 until I'm ready to jump.
@DerekTweed,
This, they're still thinking about what specs they might have and how it'll all work together, they might have some concepts designs in the works, I imagine it's still too early to have a mock up or put out dev kits.
Need I remind you how last gen played out.
@gamerzero,
Why does everyone ignore the evidence that the PS5 won't come out until 2020/2021? I think everyone is over excited for new consoles, but the reality is that we'll probably see neither successor until 2020 at the earliest date.
The performance and cost of technology hasn't trickled down and we know that Microsoft/Sony will use AMD CPU/GPU/APU/whatever in their next console for the sake of cost. 3rd gen Ryzen won't be out till ...
I want the new game to be at least as good as berseria.
The higher the resolution, the less the CPU factors in, after you shoot past 1080p any decent CPU will give similar results unless you need the highest possible frames with no compromises.
I would love that, I always wanted to play Virtual On but it's so hard to actually get the game.
