to download stuff from the PSN.

and i have my PS3 connected wirelessly.

even files over a gig don't take an inordinately long amount of time to dl.

my 360 is connected wired (don't have a wi fi adaptor), and i imagine it may be a little faster than the wireless PS3, but i haven't noticed any major dl times on either.

i find it funny that so many people spaz out that they have to wait 5-10 minutes to play their games because of downloading a ...

on Netflix on the 360, because i don't have an Xbox LIVE Gold account. i refuse to pay for the "privilege" of accessing an online connection i already pay for, so i just use Netflix on my PS3.

can't say i'm disappointed so far.

anyway, i can't imagine it being any worse to watch movies using Netflix on the 360 than on the PS3. i mean, in the end, all i want to do is watch movies/tv shows on my TV using my PS3 or Xbox 360.

as long as i can do th...

about a game being a long length, i have to wonder if the story will suffer a bit.

"stretching out" a narrative just fill a 20-30 hour game length may not be a good thing.

i like both Uncharteds, because their game length felt perfect; about 10+ hours.

to me, it never felt like the game was dragging on, or stretching things out. the pacing was spot on.

i can't wait to get Alan Wake and experience it for myself.

on a gaming news site, but at least it's not flame bait.

i'm pretty sure you can't turn this into a console war topic, though i'm sure some folks will try.

that people had about Demon's Souls.

"wahh, the game is too hard, and my spoiled, current generation fingers can't keep up with the difficulty!sob!!"

anyway, 3/5 seems like a fair enough score for a game that is entirely playing off of the nostalgia of gamers like myself, who've been gaming since the NES games, and will more than likely appreciate the in jokes and the hard difficulty.

i admit i was almost scared away from Demon's Souls when i h...

considering that the original Xbox only breached 40 million units.

say what you will about Microsoft's business tactics, and hardware issues with the 360, but with this generation of gaming, i really think MS stepped up their game and became the competitor that Sony needed to step up THEIR game.

having played games for a long time, i can say that Sony hasn't had a legitimate competitor since they entered the gaming industry.

the PS1 steamrolled the N64 a...

just so that people will shut the hell up about it when they realize that it's quite possibly one of the most overrated features in gaming.

trust me, CGC is NOT this amazing, fantastic, revolutionary feature. you'll be amazed at how often you DON'T use the feature.

being a single play gamer, i don't WANT to talk to my buddies while playing Uncharted 2 sp, or God of War 3, or Heavy Rain.

if i need to chat with my friends, i call them on the phone.

"While IGN does appreciate that a game like this tends to take more risks than a franchise hit like Final Fantasy..."

um, EVERY Final Fantasy since FFVII has taken some rather extreme risks, with FFXIII taking, what i feel to be, some of the biggest risks and departures from the "FF Formula," and if i remember correctly, IGN, you guys were pissy about it.

you guys complained that, unlike other FFs, FFXIII was "linear, didn't have any towns, d...

but how the fanboys on this site abuse the multiple account system to report other users comments as spam, thus having them removed from the topic, just because they didn't like what the guy/gal had to say, and couldn't come up with a reasonable, intelligent rebuttal.

the mods are also guilty of deleting comments they don't like, while letting some of the more rabid fanboys that can do nothing but barf up gems like "360 sux!/PS3 sux!" while the users with actual, legiti...

could find a way to digitally sell you FOOD, we'd see them shut down farms all over the world.

anything to cut out the middle man, or save a buck or two.

as i stated in the other thread, i enjoy manuals, because they do a few things for me:

1) They give me something to read while I'm stuck at work, or on the bus, waiting to get home so i can actually PLAY the game, and by the time I get home, I'm ready to just start playing.

2) Good manuals,...

it was a game that received really good scores (deservedly so), and yet it had T-Shirts for nearly every major publication in gaming, from OPM, to PSM, to GameSpy, to Gamereactor, to Game Pro, to IGN, and they all gave SH3 a rather positive reviews.

sometimes companies have some fun cross-promotion, and it seems like Konami has a bit of a history with putting game magazines in their games.

this "controversy" is a little blown out of proportion.

a game that was a genuine stinker like, oh, maybe Deadly Premonition, but it's more than possible that a franchise KNOWN for it's amazing quality and high scores could actually be WORTH the high score.

Metal Gear Solid is a rock solid, quality franchise. even the WORST in the series deserves a high score (that'd be MGS2).

besides, too many other websites have ads plastered all over for games they review, and yet nobody really seems to be whistle-blowing.

if HHG looked and acted like Major Nelson, would he be getting such an impassioned negative response from some of you guys?

i'm not particularly a fan, but not because he talks slang, but because i'm not supportive of the constant sensationalism he employs to get hits to his site.

he most certainly gets interviews with some of the industries greats, and for that i can't help but respect his determination to achieve his dream, as well as his genuine enthusiasm for gam...

nice to have when you pick up a game and are stuck at work or on the bus, and you can kill a little bit of time flipping through the manual, getting hyped for when you finally get to the house and can actually play the game.

it's a primer for the gaming experience.

i still remember the night my mother bought me Castlevania 3 for the NES on a trip to Gurnee Mills when i lived in Wisconsin, and during the hour and a half drive back home to Milwaukee, i was reading the ...

that i'm paying $60 for games that are, factually, getting CHEAPER and CHEAPER to make, and now they want to remove user manuals?

i'm one of the gamers from the NES era who has always enjoyed manuals.

some games have rather impressive manuals that are more like mini-artbooks.

the Shadow of the Colossus manual is one that stands out (it had this cool, vertical presentation, with nice images of some of the colossi).

PlayStation 3 users are putting Alan Wake down.

i'm a BIG PlayStation fan. i play my PS3 more than i play my 360, and yet i'm REALLY excited for Alan Wake, and i'm picking it up day one.

just because i have a preference for the PS3, doesn't mean i'm going to hate on the Xbox 360 and it's games, ESPECIALLY when the games are looking to be quality.

also on my wish list for this year is Fable 3, and Crackdown 2.

and leave it to Eurogamer to try...

i've always loved the MvC series.

i have MvC1 for my Dreamcast, and MvC2 downloaded from the PlayStation Network.

i don't know, i guess it's always been something about using Marvel characters against Capcom's rather impressive stable of characters. it never really felt out of place as far as crossovers go.

that, and i LOVED the way they implemented the Marvel character's abilities in the combat. i always thought they were well realized and animated.

haven't played God of War 3, or watched any of the documentaries, because they try and use the "fixed camera angle" as an excuse as to why the game looks so good.

in one of the tech documentaries in God of War 3, they talk about how they model and render the COMPLETE environment, then position the camera best suited for game play.

more than any other God of War, GoW3 has a very dynamic camera, panning and situating itself at a whim, seamlessly changing angl...
