not to be a fanboy is simple:

1) You do an injustice to a lot of really talented game developers that just so happen to develop games on the "other" console.

Bungie, Lionhead, Bioware, Valve, Realtime Worlds, Epic, to name only a few, are some of the most talented developers in the industry, and work primarily, or exclusively, on the Xbox 360 (or PC). if i didn't have an Xbox 360, i'd have missed out on Halo, Fable 1&2, Mass Effect 1&...

brake pads are VITAL to the performance of the car. Linux is NOT vital to the performance of the PlayStation 3 as the ADVERTISED Gaming Console/Blu Ray player.

i hadn't really been following 3D gaming much (i already own two HDTVs, i'm not about to invest in an expensive 3D set), so i don't remember seeing the list of 3D compatible games, but that's pretty cool.

that was really funny. and spot on.

i think that it wouldn't be a platformer, though(not the most popular genre), it'd be an FPS with multi-player.

did i do it right?

in all seriousness, i'm looking forward to Alan Wake. it looks intriguing, and i judge games based on my OWN hands on experiences, not what some dude with an agenda had to say.

hell, IGN gave White Knight Chronicles something like a 5/10, and i LOVE that game.

this site apparently has a history of underscoring games that are actually quality.

i think people are being hard on Alan Wake, but where were th...

over the 4 years the PS3 has been on the market, we have gotten, for FREE no less:

* A video rental/purchase service
* Netflix support
* Facebook integration
* Youtube support for select games
* Improved BD Live support for Blu Ray movies
* Folding@Home and Life With PlayStation
* PlayStation HOME (which has a few of it's own features and events like game launching and games within HOME)
* Background downloading (bef...

but it's no different than how the new lighting improved the look of Gears of War 2.

i think a lot of people underestimate how important lighting is to visuals.

Uncharted 2 had better lighting than Uncharted 1 (and a lot of other things, of course, which added to it's amazing look).

God of War 3 has amazing lighting. so does Killzone 2.

i think the textures in LBP2 look about the same as LBP1, but i think the improved...

but this screen in particular:

http://www.littlebigland.co...

looks like a 3D image. could LBP2 also support 3D? that wouldn't surprise me.

Move support, 3D support, sounds like something Sony would love to leverage. they have a knack for using well known, or at least acclaimed products, to Trojan Horse another product (PS3 and Blu Ray anyone...

because it's just to much fun, and ridiculous.

Ape Escape 3 was actually pretty good, but i still remember the first. it was the first game on the PS1 that REQUIRED a Dual Shock controller, and it was more than a gimmick, it really used all the sticks and buttons to good measure. i still have the original, and i really enjoyed 2 and 3 as well.

when the whole motion controls thing was first being pimped, i remember thinking how great an Ape Escape game wou...

at the start of the generation isn't always impressive 3 years later.

i remember my buddy coming over with his 360, and showing my roommate and me Lost Planet 1. even then, i didn't find it particularly impressive, and simply viewed it as one of those early next gen games that most certainly looked nice, but wasn't more than concepts from the previous generation with more polish.

and here we are, a few years later, and the sequel, which was built ...

when i purchased that PS3, i didn't purchase it for Linux.

i purchased it for Blu Ray and games. i'm not going to pretend, now that the Other OS feature is gone that i suddenly, after having my PS3 for over 3 years, that i "was GOING to" install Linux on my PS3.

considering that, at best, it would have been limited, slow, rather pointless Linux, why waste the time on it? i'd get better performance out of Linux by installing it on my PC. ...

jaggies "issue" is completely blown out of proportion this generation.

take inFAMOUS for example. that game has poor anti-aliasing, but i still consider it to be one of the best looking sandbox games out there, because all the other elements that make up the visual presentation is so rock solid.

i have a 40" 720p set, which can also output 1080i. i currently have my PS3 set to 1080i, but most games output to 720p automatically.

on the PS2 graphically

God of War 2
Metal Gear Solid 3
Ico
Shadow of the Colossus
Kingdom Hearts 2
Final Fantasy XII
Resident Evil 4
Odin Sphere
Okami
Ratchet and Clank (in particular Up Your Arsenal)

those are just a few that i thought were really great looking games, and encompassed what the PS2 could pull off graphically.

backing of a multi-million dollar company: a sequel with more than just a few "cosmetic" upgrades (i love you Bioware, but Mass Effect 2 was hardly more than a glorified expansion to Mass Effect 1. the feature set was EXACTLY THE SAME with only a few changes to game play mechanics; like improved shooting. the new characters were fantastic, which i expect from a Bioware game, but the story felt like nothing more than filler for Mass Effect 3, which i'm sure will be AWESOME).

makes me want to punch things.

i absolutely LOVE LBP, and seeing what they are planning for the sequel already has my mind bursting with potential concepts.

this could elevate game prototyping to a whole new level. i've had a few ideas floating around my head for potential PSN titles that i'd love to pitch to Sony, but i'm only an artist, with no programming knowledge to really create a prototype to present.

if LBP 2 allows the fr...

it's just like an 8/10 score, which is also a good score.

it simply boggles my mind that people think if a game isn't 9/10 or 10/10 it isn't worth buying.

some of my favorite games haven't had the best critical reception (Mark of Kri, Second Sight, Primal, and more), but i love them to death.

this penchant for gamers to want their opinion GIVEN to them, instead of discovering for themselves what they do and do not like is trou...

developing games on the PS3 first, THEN porting to the 360 results in better 360 games. why is that treated like a BAD THING?

it's so funny how times have changed. i remember 2006 at N4G, when me and my fellow PlayStation 3 fans were ridiculed and laughed off the site for making statements like, "once developers get a handle on the PS3, you'll really start to see what it can do!"

PS fans knew it would only get better from 2007 on out, and i...

my gaming budget is super tight, so i won't be able to get this, Alan Wake, and Red Dead Redemption until sometime next month.

i'm trying to find a way to swing for 3D Dot Game Heroes, since it's only $36 on Amazon (with free shipping to boot!), but i'm also trying to be responsible with my cash.

i'm a patient guy though, so i can wait until June if i must. i still have a LOT of games to play while i wait (FFXIII, Red Faction: Guerrilla, W...

and KOTOR and Jade Empire were just two of the reasons why i bought an Xbox last generation.

i own Mass Effect 1 and 2 on my 360, and Dragon Age Origins and Awakening on my PS3, so i'm all for seeing more on the PS3 from them.

on the Mass Effect issue, i'm finishing the trilogy on my 360. that's where the series was born. if it comes to the PS3, great, but it would have to have some significant improvements (visuals/loadtimes/framerate) on the PS...

that there's nothing wrong with liking FFVIII. the FF's are still some of the best RPGs out there, and even the ones that some of us may think were "weak" are still better than most other RPGs out there. lol. even FFXIII, which i actually love, is better than many of the JRPGs released this generation.j
