I see what you did there, Joystiq. Too bad I haven't gone to your site in years, and I won't do so now.

3.5/5 is a fine score, by the way, but it's obvious that joystiq is doing this for hits.

For me, a game has to miss quite a few important things in order to shave off a full 1.5 points from a total score of 5/5.

Weak story? That's barely a .5, but fine, take that off. 4.5/5

Can't deduct points for the gr...

The sad thing about the Killzone games is that there is a TERRIFIC backstory to all of the events, but we never get to really explore it.

I think before Killzone 2 came out, I looked up the backstory on Wikipedia after playing Killzone 1 and Liberation, and I was so surprised at the level of depth and intrigue Guerrilla put into the universe.

Bioware gets a lot of love for crafting excellent worlds, and rightfully so. They know how to make a world feel comple...

I LOVE Jak and Daxter, but I actually prefer when a talented developer moves FORWARD.

Jak had 3 excellent games, and a kart racer.

Uncharted will have 3 excellent games, and if there is any humorous bone in Naughty Dog's body, we'll get a PSN Kart Racer, just for kicks.

I'd like to see Naughty Dog take what they learned with Uncharted, and apply it to a new IP. I can't imagine what that new IP could be, but they've already...

you know, most games don't even reach 300,000 units. in Japan, they often celebrate a title that sells 200,000 units over there.

maybe if Ninja Theory would stop over-reaching with their development budgets, selling almost 500,000 units would earn them a profit.

Heavenly Sword cost a pretty penny to make, but that's because they had created a proprietary engine for the PS3, and built an expensive mo-cap studio. Not to mention getting Andy Serkis on bo...

Man, I remember those days. I joined N4G back in 2007, just after I got my PS3 and stumbled across the site randomly.

For a PlayStation fan, 2007-mid 2008 was a NIGHTMARE.

The Mart, Power of Green, Bloodmask, etc. Those guys just didn't stop with the hate. EVERY negative PS3 game review they could find was the hottest articles on this site. Even when the scores were GOOD, they made sure to shit in every thread by downplaying the game and throwing Gears of...

It's Jim Sterling. The guy is a douchebag. I refuse to give Destructoid hits, even when they post good review scores.

After the whole Deadly Premonition/Heavy Rain debacle of the last year by Jim Sterling, I have no desire to EVER hear what this guy's opinions on gaming are, PERIOD.

It doesn't matter if Destructoid, or IGN, or Eurogamer and Edge give some of our anticipated games high scores. What matters to me is that they have consistently moved...

My PS3 croaked on me last year, and I lost my inFAMOUS 1 saves, so I'm currently replaying the game to have a save file ready for inFAMOUS 2.

I'll more than likely beat it on Evil as well, so I can choose which story I want to play in inFAMOUS 2.

I'm just eager for Sucker Punch to announce a release date already. A May or June release would be ideal for me.

To add to your comment Bathyj, those handhelds you mentioned barely reached over 3 million sales. The Game Gear sold 8 million.

By comparison, the PSP has sold 60 million units. That's more than the Xbox 360 AND PS3.

This attitude that somehow the PSP is a failure baffles me, when all signs point to it being a monumental success for Sony, despite piracy.

In anticipation for the PSP2, I was browsing the PS Store for PSP games I may want to...

Thanks!

And EXACTLY. If all GeoHotz wanted to do was hack is OWN console for his OWN amusement and hobbyism, why the hell did he then publish the keys online for everyone else to use?

I don't have much of a problem with him having his own custom firmware, and sharing it, but the private encryption keys should have stayed just that: PRIVATE.

GeoHotz is a child, and now he's getting first hand experience in how the real world works.

You know, my thoughts on the matter is that Sony allowed Linux on the PS3 to give hackers something to fuck around with, under the unspoken agreement that they would leave the PS3 proper alone.

Hackers, being the egotistical assholes they often are, weren't satisfied with that arrangement, and started to use Linux on the PS3 as a gateway into hacking the PS3 proper.

Having violated that unspoken agreement, Sony decided to disable Linux, since, clearly, th...

It certainly took me longer than 12 hours to beat inFAMOUS 1. I guess we can safely assume that IGN never bothered to 100% the game, getting all blast shards, completing all side quests, and upgrading all powers. That definitely takes longer than 12 hours.

Anyway, I don't expect much from IGN these days as a source for gaming news coverage, but inFAMOUS 2 is going to be damn awesome. I'm eagerly awaiting news on a release date. May or June would be ideal for me.

I loved Resistance: Fall of Man
I loved Resistance 2
I'm pretty sure I'll love Resistance 3. It's looking amazing, and is definitely one of the 6 key titles I WILL buy this year, if I can't fit all of my wishlist into my gaming budget this year.

Insomniac didn't develop games for the PSP either, so I wasn't expecting them to hop on the PSP2.

Naughty Dog didn't develop anything for the PSP as well.

Some developers prefer to focus on the platform they feel expresses their vision the best. For Insomniac and Naughty Dog, it's clearly the consoles.

Besides, these guys don't have infinite resources when it comes to budget and manpower. Insomniac, between it's two s...

Is it REALLY that hard for people to properly scan a magazine page?

I mean, damn, I've never had that problem when scanning stuff. Is it that difficult to just, I don't know, lay the damn page down flat, and scan one page at a time? lol.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this game, as Demon's Souls was one of my favorite games of 2009.

This game isn't tied to the franchise in story or world (Sony owns the Demon's S...

They may not come close to Uncharted's visuals in the end, but from what I'm seeing of inFAMOUS 2, they are giving every other open world sandbox title a run for it's money.

Everything about inFAMOUS 2 is looking improved. I'm glad Sucker Punch is shooting for Uncharted 2. Even if they don't reach that goal, it's nice to know they aren't just making it "good enough."

I real key to Uncharted's graphical success isn'...

Meh. I don't see a problem with the game's length. Flower isn't a very long game, but it's wonderfully calming and engrossing, and I still go back to it every once in a while just to relax.

Journey looks fascinating, and I tend to take my time and absorb a gaming experience, taking in the little details, and in a game like Journey, which is about discovery, I can see myself spending double that 3 hours just roaming around, exploring every nook and cranny I can...

I love Ratchet and Clank. I will be getting All 4 One if I can.

I find this mentality that all games need to appeal to everyone very distressing.

Insomniac is known to experiment with their sequels. After 6+ Ratchet games, I can't blame them for trying something very different than what has come before (and besides, A Crack in Time was just so incredibly perfect as a Ratchet game, it'd be rather hard to top that with another traditional Ratchet title)...

While I understand your view, I have to say I think that you are applying previous handheld shooter experiences to the PSP2.

Yes, shooters on handhelds simply weren't as fun as their console counterparts, because of one key issue: lack of a second analog stick to control aiming (or movement, depending on if some of you like the southpaw configuration).

The PSP 2 has changed the game in terms of controls for a handheld. It has two analog sticks, meaning th...
