MS wants to push subs. I guess they weren't satisfied with xbox sales, which made them put games on PC. But they have to pay steam 30% for PC sales because no one uses xbox store on pc. Also you need to make good games for them to sell well.
If COD goes exclusive and sales tank, they will lose billions. What else does Activision publish? Blizzard has some mobile games and diablo 4 coming but Activision is COD. Put out a shitty incomplete game with shitty microtransactions and watch player numbers drop. example: HALO infinite
The title of this article says SONY was Activision's largest customer. "330°
Sony was Activision Blizzard’s largest customer by revenue in 2020" So IOS and Android are bigger than xbox.
"Halo Infinite is a great game. "
I think you're in denial. Halo is a first person shooter, but the shooting sucks in it.

Why does SONY have to copy gamepass? They sell way more games than Xbox. Third party games sell way more on playstation. Elden Ring sold 40% on playstation vs 16% on xbox and 44% on pc. Basically all the sales were on pc and playstation. I bet Call of Duty sells more on playstation too. All the big sellers sell like 2 to 1 on ps.
Xbox has been available in stores for months. They even have series x available.

Have they said they will allow mods? This is a new MIcrosoft ip and if they want to monetize to the max than it may not be mod friendly. Or maybe they'll have paid mods like flight sim. Remember Bethesda tried charging for mods for skyrim on steam, just before they were bought by Microsoft.
The scale of star citizen is on another level compared to starfield. It looks like when you go from space to planet you just choose land and a cutscene plays showing your ship landing (like Mass Effect). Star citizen has seamless space to planet travel and you can fly anywhere when in the planets atmosphere. You have to actually land your ship, power down, etc. in star citizen.

well the maps are like 10x bigger than halo maps
"because Sony can’t compete on their level?" LOL
Gamepass exists because XBOX couldn't compete with PS. PS4 sold like over 1 billion games halfway into it's life. Every multiplat sold 2:1 to like 5:1 vs XBOX and their big exclusives were selling 10+million.
The only gaming machines doing 720p are handheld/portable
Will they support it if no one plays it? It peaked at about 300,000 users on steam but it's not even in the top 100 anymore. More people are playing battlefield v on steam. (Most battlefield players use origin?) #100 on steam has 8000 players.
It will for sure have a bunch of dlc. It's their new space marine game. Master chief looking suit $20, and it will sell a bunch lol
"They are influencers looking to get paid or get swag and deter from giving a bad rating that might cut off their benefits."
Have you seen the influencer/reviewer packages they get? There's no way are going to give an unbiased review.

They show you the stats. It's about 20,000.
https://store.steampowered....
It's not really correct because "This number is based on the base price of each game on the Microsoft Store. " The microsoft store lists anthem for $40, even though it's not available from the microsoft store. Origin sells it for 2.99.
Microsoft store also list multiple versions of the same game (all overpriced). Listing the base price is just a way to make it seem like you're getting a good deal when most games are well below the "base price" How many...

They probably got the idea from MS. MS tried to charge for online pc gaming. They failed. If it were up to them we would be paying subs for games.They tried charging for their msn zone when mplayer closed and tried charging for GFWL. Both of those were crap and there was better stuff available for free.
@theindiearmy
" it played a pivotal role in keeping online multiplayer free on PC and kept from publishers implementing subscriptions for games beyond MMOs. "
LOL that's just straight bs. They tried charging for multiplayer and failed on pc since there were better options that were free, pc players told ms to f off. Than MS basically abandoned pc gaming and blocked most of their xbox games from coming to pc until the xbox one flopped.
When the ps2 released, cable and dsl wasn't available. Microsoft of course knew it would be coming since they had to work with these companies for drivers and such for windows. The ps2 slim had a built in ethernet port because it released after cable internet came out. They didn't really do anything to push online gaming forward. Hell SONY probably pushed online gaming more. They had one of the first big mmorpg (Everquest) and they had planetside, which was like 1000 players multiplay...
@Mcardle
I seriously doubt they have millions of players returning. It's #74 on steam with 7622 current players and peaked at 17,328. It isn't doing much better on xbox either, it barely makes the top 50 and is behind Farming Simulator. But credit to Microsoft for not abandoning the game.
