WTF are you smoking? 3rd party exclusives has been XBOX strategy up till now. That's why they have no 1st party games. I guess it must be hard for MS to get exclusive deals when playstation sells like 3 or 4 times better for multiplat games.
They don't want that. When you talk about PC gaming, who comes up? Steam and maybe epic games. Microsoft has to pay steam 30% to sell games on pc, because no one uses the xbox store or whatever it's called on pc.
xbox controllers are locked at 125hz polling...not good
MS "consumer friendly"? LOL that's just ridiculous
Not only did they have exclusives, but ffx3 went from being ps exclusive to xbox having full marketing rights in the US. Square was 100% pro xbox for 360/ps3 era. FF13 still sold better on playstation and square had record losses.(SONY sold there stock in Square Enix during this time also) The president of square enix was forced to resign, and now square puts there games on ps and nintendo consoles.

Kinect wasn't innovative, it was just eye toy 2. They should have used it like trackIR in games like flight sim or forza.
xbox controllers are locked to 125hz polling rate. This is why they get good battery life. PS controllers use 250hz polling rate. Xbox controllers have twice the input lag.

It's because the xbox controllers are locked to a 124hz polling rate.

@Chevalier
Xbox had marketing rights in the USA also. So every commercial for FF13 had that xbox logo at the end, with no mention of PS. They paid for the breach of contract, a bunch of tv ads (it was during NBA playoffs i think) and sold way less. I remember even the president of squareenix at the time was like "why are people buying it on playstation?" Even big games like Elden Ring was like 15% xbox to 45% Playstation.
Lost Ark is #3 on steam. New World is 17. They seem to be doing ok
The game looks alright to me. It's ridiculous that this game get's so much hate, but games like pentiment get praised as a "masterpiece". It's Playstation exclusive, and looks better than any of the xbox releases that look like they were made for mobile phones, but will probably get lower ratings than those low budget 2d games

The guys who did Allied assault are the one who created call of duty. They're back at EA, Vince something
I think you're talking about UWP. Universal Windows Platform or something like that. Microsoft didn't put their games on steam until UWP failed. (because it required everything to go through windows store)
@digit_
There isn't a $70 game on gamepass. In the 5 or 6 years gamepass has been out how many $60 games have been on there? Let that sink in. Most of the games there can be bought for $5 to $20.
Maybe third parties are charging ms too much for timed exclusives since they sell like 3 times better on playstation.
Consoles need third party support, they can't make enough games without it. Playstation and Xbox have always benefitted from strong third party support. Playstation also has good first party support, which is why it's been so successful.(compared to xbox which has been forza,gears,halo) Even Nintendo consoles struggled when they had poor third party support.
@petebloodyonion
Aren't those minimum specs better than a series s? It's also on low quality settings. Anyone using older hardware on pc aren't playing the latest games. They're playing games like dota or counterstrike which have low requirements. (These are the most popular games on steam)
@HardKnockKid24
" I also would offer that MS messed up, they dropped the ball hard. The acquisitions are a result of needing to catch up and needing to do so quickly. "
That's them not being able to compete
Demon's Souls was the first game Miyazaki was given full control. Maybe that had something to do with it.
Maybe it's a dx11 problem. BG3 uses vulkan as it's default api (even on pc) and steam deck also uses vulkan as it's graphics api. BG3 supports dx11 also but it's slower than vulkan and is old tech. I don't think dx12 is supported. Maybe it's time for microsoft to ditch dx requirements for xbox.
