I am not too concerned with Greenburgs paid cheer-leading. What I am concerned about is the notion that Kinect is suppose to replace the controller.
Now we can all agree that the "tech" of Kinect is very impressive from an ideological tech standpoint but the practical purposes for typical genres of games leaves much to be desired.

That was pathetic that they would only throw them a freaking beta key for Halo Reach.
The man gave a freaking console. Both were publicity stunts but this was obviously a lot more involved than a freaking beta key in your inbox.
This game will get killed by reviewers but I will ignore it in delight and download on December 7th.

It seems its just a laggy version of move tech. And to those who say "but its been put together in a few hours" Well weren't the live Move tech demos from E3 09 "just made in hours"?
I tried Kinect yesterday and it was laggy. The games have not changed a bit since E3 10 when we were demoing them in those stupid bubble chambers.

The only real object missing is not the 3D printer but rather the Laser Pointer.

Really, I mean its pretty obvious that it was only 1 game that really made the fiscal quarter and its obvious it was Halo Reach. Its not like there was anything else from the xbox camp worth paying attention to, so who are we kidding?
We know its Halo and we know its people "upgrading" from the defective units.

I have talked to developers in the LA area (EA, THQ) and they say there are some serious hurdles to overcome because of the lack of accuracy and horrible latency. They were saying that the experiences on Kinect were not going to be anywhere near the 2009 target renders. In fact they said most games will just seem like more accurate renditions of Eyetoy games and mostly on rail experiences.
Unfortunately for Microsoft, You don't earn any industry gaming awards on a product being over marketed. You earn them with the quality of software.
Who knows maybe microsoft could set aside some of that $500 mil to make an award for themselves (Best Overhyped piece of Tech).
