Then the term "mind fuck" would be an understatement.

Pretty much. Sometimes, I wish this place worked more like Reddit where we can upvote useful comments to the top and downvote useless comments to the bottom. It's pretty frickin obvious who read the blog post and who didn't.

I wonder if he had anything negative to say about working with Treyarch. The saying goes "don't burn bridges", but it couldn't have been all good working for folks that actively "look for the lowest bidder".

I kinda wished Microsoft didn't bend over. It would've been interesting to see if Microsoft could've challenged GameStop. You barely see PC games at GameStop, but that hasn't slowed down PC Gaming one bit: matter-of-fact, it's the opposite of that.

Say what you will about the whole 'consumer rights' thing: but I can't help but wonder what-if Microsoft was able to successfully replicate Steam but for consoles?

When I bought the DS3 when it finally came out: there wasn't a lot of games with split-screen and it ended up gathering dust for a long time. Even now, there's only a handful of games with local play. I don't think I'll make that same mistake this time.

"A chore"? Were you playing it by yourself? I can't imagine it being a chore if you had a friend playing with you.

It's a solid co-op game with split-screen that I can enjoy with my friend. It has a lot of content and a lot of replay value as well. The MP is pretty fun too under the right conditions. My favorite is Survival.

I am a huge fan of the game design of this game that has a bit for everyone. If you're a fan of the original RE level design: play through Leon's story. If you're more into the action-oriented sequences, then there's Chris' story. Jake and Adas...

I remember years ago, people called for Mikami's head because there was NO ZOMBEEZ.

The haters do a much better job re-hashing CoD than the actual developers themselves. The hivemind never sleeps!

Naughty Dog is very good at developing a character and presenting that to the player. However, the article implies story narrative, not character narrative. The two may be intertwined, but they are not the same.

I thought games like Max Payne 3, and Splinter Cell Conviction raised the level quite a bit.

In order to achieve the RACE theme that MGS5 is going for: I can't help but feel that parallel-narratives will be a must as well as multiple main characters to control in order to show the different perspectives: MGS2 did this.

FWIW: Resident Evil 6 did a pretty good job with the "different perspectives" part with their 4 separate story-options and coul...

I think Respawn would've done better if they got a hold on the Gundam license and ran with that. Why reinvent the wheel?

Unlike consoles, Destiny will be hitting some hard competition from the likes of either Planetside 2 or Warframe. I don't know how applicable the MMO label is but PC platform is no stranger to a consistent-world MMO-style FPS game.

As nice as this sounds for gaming overall: I don't buy consoles to get sucked into the DD model. If I wanted that, I'd simply pick Steam. Is there really a difference between the X1 and Steam PCs when you take discs out of the equation?

Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel: Microsoft should've simply partnered with Steam and expanded their lineup with your well-established franchises if they really wanted to test their DD model theory.

Although...

I dunno: the pastebin was pretty convincing that hit on the notes that Steam went through and we love Steam now. If we ignore that Microsoft are total control-freaks then there's merit in this argument.

Competition-wise: regardless of what anyone says, factually Microsoft is the only one to drastically change up the game. (albeit, not on a good start).

Gurren Lagann. Not even once: I take it?

From a software QA/legal perspective: it makes sense why Microsoft is more worried about giving developers(especially indies) their own little freedom.
