It's because of the letterbox I think. It's being rendered in what some people would call cinematic 1080p.

It's not scrapped. They used it for the Cloud demo. And they're finishing off the Luminous Engine for FF15 and onwards for the PS4 and XBO.
The footage of FFXV at E3 was actually using the current rendering tools. The gameplay will be moved to the Luminous Engine, since Visual Works is still working on the engine while Nomura and his team work on the game.
Anyways, this is very impressive. I like the wings of the monster, looks really cool.

Also, it takes loads of money to make an engine. To kill it off in the middle of development while SE is in their current state would be dumb. I was just adding to what you were saying :D
FF15 is passing into Luminous when the engine is ready isn't it? Nomura said so.

The PS4 is gonna be my main platform (still gonna play the Wii U a lot), but let's be a bit reasonable here.
The Wii U may not be up to snuff in specs, but that isn't the main thing that you want from Nintendo. You want fun and awesome games, like Mario and Zelda.
I'll be buying a Wii U for X and Zelda Wii U. X looks like a next gen game to me. All Nintendo really needs is to put out some good games and they'll be ...

I think it's more than that. I mean, the Wii U still exists right? And even though it's a $100 cheaper than the PS4 and considering the fact that it is the successor to the Wii, I don't think it's just because of the price. It's a huge factor, but it's not the sole reason.
Yes, it's very bad. Why can't we have both digital and physical distribution? Why do we need to have DRM all across the board?

It's 2017 and you're trying to download GTA6. A game with an even more demanding physics engine, improved graphics and an even bigger world than GTA5. Imagine how slow it would be trying to download the game with millions of other people.
Not to mention HDDs would have to be HUGE and expensive.

@14Feb-R, you're not gonna see FF15 at the VGX it says in the article. Don't get me wrong. I would like to see it, but it's not gonna happen.
It's a reasonably good list. I'm still hoping for some Mirror's Edge 2 info.
The game reveals and exclusive premieres are the only reason I watched the VGAs to begin with.

Well, I really didn't mention the Wii U because I forgot. I'm serious. But even then, the Wii U is doing it's own thing. It's still a gaming platform though, even if it is weaker.

The most hyped up games nowadays are the Western ones. You probably wouldn't even be able to see FF at the VGAs.

Even though he was a part of the mess with his crusty jokes, even Joel McHale was pointing out how crappy and boring the format was. Low production values, sad and short excuses for World Premieres, terrible hosting, stupid cameos (who asked for Smosh to be there?).
