It's the launch games that are underwhelming-for SOME people. Don't ever expect anything mind blowing at launch. This isn't the SNES we're talking about.
And it'll only widen throughout the gen.
The funny thing is that it's so obviously not true because of one simple fact:
The Cloud does not increase the resolution on the XBO games.
No matter how much MS says it, the Cloud is not going to do ANYTHING.
Mirror's Edge 2 in 2015?! Sunava...
Well said my friend. I can't wait.
Mirror's Edge 2 please?
Are you serious?
Launch day is a just the beginning. Some of you guys act as if the games we get on launch day are the only we'll get the whole gen.
Give it 6-8 months. The launch of the PS4 and XBO will be a distant memory.
I'm not getting a PS4 at launch, because I'm waiting until the really good stuff comes out. KZSF and stuff look pretty cool, but for me personally, it's not enough to get a console at launch (not getting the XBO). I'll be gettin...
Someone needs to make a website with less compression on the player. I can't stand YT quality. 720p on Gamespot looks better than 1080p on YT.
Square Enix Japan IS fixing FF in my opinion. I don't know about you guys, but to me, Final Fantasy XV looks like the most ambitious out of all FF's. It's being directed by Nomura, who is very skilled at making characters who aren't your anime stereotypes and the KH gameplay is awesome.
Sony has loads of exclusives in development. They always do. The PS3 was in the same situation.
Aside from that, all I can say is:
Welcome to launch titles.
Polygon got 750k from MS. They'll lie about anything.
They give crappy scores to games on Playstation as well. Even though the PS4's CODG stutter issue was because the PS4 was exceeding 60fps, Polygon won't make an update to their review.
A lot of gaming journalists do what they do because they get money. Why do you think IGN gives COD 9's (8.8 for COD Ghosts) every year?
@-Foxtrot, fair enough.
Agreed. JRPGs are my favourite genre. We're getting awesome ones this gen, but even more would be nice.
Even Yoshida thinks Nintendo should stay. And I agree with him and you.
As someone who is planning to purchase a PS4 and Wii U and someone who purchased a PS3 and a Wii, I think that both companies make good competition for each other. Nintendo and Sony are essential to the industry.
I look forward to playing the hell out of my PS4 and my Wii U.
Now... where's Sega? I hope they return for the 9th gen and I hope Sony and Nintendo continue (guaranteed basically). Hel...
Well, the Dark Sorcerer was running at 1080p above 60fps as well (jumping between 30fps and 90fps, wasn't even optimized). Fair enough, it's a tech demo, but it is very impressive.
Now that an actual game (a launch game mind you) is running above 60fps along with 1080p native, I'm even more excited about the PS4's future. A very surprising twist.
So the PS4 is having problems with this game because it's exceeding 60fps? Whoa.
I know the engine is not impressive in any sense of the world, but because the PS4 is running a game at native 1080p and exceeding 60fps, it really excites me for next-gen with the PS4.
@wishingW3L, exactly.
Seriously though, this is hilarious. Words will be eaten. Time to see how GAF has exploded.
Not all. Just a few. Plus, these are rushed launch games.
Loads of open world games coming out next-gen.
Metal Gear Solid V
Mirror's Edge
Tom Clancy's: The Division
Watch Dogs
Damn, those games alone are a good list. Now imagine an open world game by Santa Monica. If true, then the game will be beastly.
Exactly. Even MS knew when to back off with the DRM. So to think that someone would try that again, while lying as well is inconceivable.
Good. Keep a level head. Launch day is important, but keeping your focus and priorities simple and focused is they key, just like preparation.
Good to know Sony isn't getting arrogant. Another lesson learnt from the PS3. It is a great console, but the beginning was rough.
I'm not getting a PS4 at launch, but some people want the launch titles for the PS4. It's as simple as that. If people really thought the PS4 was not worth buying at launch, it wouldn't have sold over 1 million units in 24 hours.
