Mid gen console refreshes isn't happening because the chip shortage is still an issue and whikst transistors are still doubling in number every 3/4 years the proce isn't decreasing like it used to atm. So certainly the idea of a mid gen refresh this gen woukd seem dead in the water. Infact I expect this gen to be stretched longer due to the global supply chain issues atm we are probably looking at the next gen starting in around 2027/2028 as opposed to 20225/2026.
