Thry aren't they already called MS out on this and literally said that they clearly couldn't get COD to run on switch not properly and infact activision had already tried several times.

Sony definitely care about the other IP their lawyers just clearly believe that their best chance of stopping the deal lies in the call of duty argument.

You clearly didn't read the statement from the lead devs other day? That FF16 is timed exclusive for 6 months. Without sonys contribution of developers and engineers- yhe game would still be years away from release.

I have no idea what everyone's issue with this is. It is clearly a story driven open world coop game with post launch dlc planned. I keep seeing people saying that the characters all look like they play the same but you must have been watching a different video to me. They clearly state harley is more about traversal and movement being acrobatic, king shark is about getting close and yeah he has guns but he also is a tank and hits hard, dead shot is all about longer range and captain boom...
They literally never do thst for 3rd party multiplatform titles. Final fantasy is the one exception and it has a strong history eith PlayStation with over a decade and a half of exclusivity prior to some multiplatform releases and the ones releasing soon are only times exclusives anyway.

Actually we do know the deal. They get marketing rights/ exclusive content in return for letting activision have 70/80/90% of the takings fro COD sales.

No COD is the number one best selling game on PlayStation and xbox and pc every year. Not the top 3, the number 1 and has been I believe since GTA V released some 10 years ago. It was also the best selling title for a good 5 years prior to gta v releasing. Once you factor in god of war ragnarok's reported 350 million dollar budget you can see even with smaller % cut that they make a similar amount of profit on COD, plus the marketing arrangement means it helps Sony shift consoles to load...
Except they wouldn't necessarily make more money as they'd likely have drastically lower sales. Microsoft would take the marketing rights for sure and launch day 1 on games pass. This would according to market research cost control at least 10% of its console user base rising to 24% minimum if COD were exclusive to xbox. This actually means that a) Sony sales are worth less to Microsoft than they made out and b) Microsoft has more incentive to foreclose COD than they claimed they did....
Why is it disappointing? They initially tried to take COD on, abd it didn't work- at all. So they decided if you can't beat them, join them. Players choose to buy call of duty in such large numbers year in and year out. The money abd console sales COD provides will go into funding first party studio games.
This isn't true, Sony takes a smaller cut in return for advertising rights etc. Its a win win for activision as it means Sony winds up coving the cost of alot of their marketing too.
It was never an issue in the first place. Sony never intended it to be they probably only gave the option in the hope there might be some people with more money than sense who would be willing to spend 30 quid unlocking a car. If they has seriously wanted microtransactions to make money they would have made cars cost like a couple of pounds to unlock or a fiver maybe even a tenner because then plenty of impatient people woukd have paid tha.
No it won't be huge for the deal that is the how the law works. 1) sonys 3rd party agreements are times and Microsoft does exactly the same thing with titles they have marketing agreements for and ps plus 2) buying a publisher is completely incomparable to 3rd party toned exclusivity deals 3) in law two wrongs don't make a right. Even if sonts actions would be considered anti-competitive that has literally zero bearing on wether or not the activision blizzard acquisition would be anti...
Isn't it the OLED switch but there's no way they are getting rhe cos that releases on current gen to work on switch not without ruining the experience for other consoles.
