Microsoft cancelled it completely recently and laid off pretty much everyone involved in its development.

There's an argument this acquisition and thr ftc court case and uk cma appeal are why Sony didn't show off more at their showcase..

Microsoft can't get 3rd party exclusives because if games pass. They are committed to launching day 1 on gamespass. As such, that limits the money they can make so MS would have to oay all dev costs and some profit to the devs. Thry've decided that's too high a cost and would rather just buy out the studios and keep the games exclusive rather than have them as timed exclusives.

@lifexline Sony haven't ever bought a major publisher. They bought psychosis when ENTERING the industry from scratch and back then they were basically a single studio entity anyway and became one studio -studio Liverpool.

Then your expectations are ridiculous and out of touch with reality. Diminishing returns means you need exponentially more power to get a leap in graphics. So to get an equivalent leap in graphics from ps3 to ps4you'd need to have gone from like the 4 tersflops of ps4 to like 40 teraflops....

However the water had full Ray traces reflections unlike the screens paced reflections in the previous game. So frankly couldn't give a fuck about bubbles.as Ray traced reflections on something you are going to simply swing across 99% of the time I'd way more technically and visually impressive.

People commenting on here have bo idea. Just this past year games have technically decreased in cost by about 5-10% in real terms because of inflation. Games approximate value in terms of how much they cost has decreased over the past 25 years. During that time games development costs have ballooned and big budget titles now sit in line with blockbuster movie budgets. Businesses need to make anprofit they aren't charities. Movies have the box office but games don't so unfortunately th...

Wolverine? Just to put it out there also ND are working on not one but two single-layer titles. Ff7 rebirth is clearly going to end up hitting in first half of 2024... plus we'll et the multiplayer fps concord and presumeably fairgames. Sony are committed to 2 major AAA singleplayer titles a year in addition to their live service games based on their investor call from last week.

Prior to last year (and all reports indicate its beacuase of the ABK acquisition regulatory scrutiny and MS trying to use sonys exclusives they invested in- to justify the acquisition) Sony typically had 2 or 3 showcases a year, firstly. Secondly Sony have in the last few years avoided putting dates on games till just a handful of months before when they can ve certain wthey won't have to delay the game. So really no spiderman date isn't an issue. No wolverine date also isn't an i...

Qe are deciding what they will be like based on cgi trailers really? Wait for gameplay and then make your mind up. I doubt Sony is going to put out anything that isn't at least decent. Marathon looked particularly interesting based on the art style and general design.

The cma has no dubious relationship with Sony. A lawyer that is now one of its director sand was NOT ON THE PANEL THAT MADE THE DECISION, worked for a law firm connected to Sony A DECADE AGO. The idea that, that means he is working for Sony is ridiculous. What's more they blocked this on concerns that make complete sense regarding cloud gaming.

I think you are totally misreading this. Almost any other deal MS might make would be smaller than this. If this goes through it sets a precedent and will mean Microsoft make more acquisitions of publishers.

The cma literally had multiple pages addressing this in their report it was very clear why the deals weren't acceptable. Ms is so full of shit

That's because COD costs Sony nothing but makes them alot of money. 1st party games have a high development cost which limits the money they can make sony....
