But I think especially based on the job listing Sony had for a mergers and acquisitions manager for playstation to handle "inorganic opportunities for growth" means they are more likely to target companies for IP for exclusives and cross media possibilities.

I don't get it, they are saying they didn't want to redeem their battlepass this season after buying the ultimate edition but I'm sure the wording was "1st premium season free" and "first year of seasons premium battlepass" which generally would mean you choose not to redeem a season or the first season and you miss it .
But that isnt peoples complaint here. Their complaint is they ate accidentally activating the battlepass that came with the edition of the game they bought. If you buy the battlepass you need to have enough silver and it does ask you to confirm the purchase.
Like what? Why? They are pretty noticeable on the map and you get half an hours notice. How are you not looking at the map in over 30 mins....
What's deceptive about this? I thought it was pretty clear if you were clicking tinactivate the premium battlepass. I'm also really confused why you WOULDNT want to activate your battlepass ASAP given you won't get the progress on it if you don't activate it.
If its live service/multiplayer title then resistance is a decent bet the ip would suit such a model quite well I think and has history being a flagship multiplayer title that sony at the time actually did put out to compete with halo and COD and managed to sell well despite the competition. Its coop was second to none in resistance 2 so...
I don't see them doing anything with that IP again, it's also in a genre Sony don't really need anyone else working on a title in. Nah resistance would make the most sense tbh.
The smart move here would be android based with their own ps q ps store full of psp and ps vita titles emulated to run on this hardware the hardware wouldn't even need to be that strong, an sd card slot would be required. Then from there you have an emphasis on streaming from ps5 and the ability to patch it with a new app to stream direct from ps plus in the future.

I see day and date gsmes being moved to the essential tier in the future and/or activision being kept as separate entity and their games added oky to game pass essential like ea play....
On what planet is it better than sonys plan? You get multiplayer on the lowest proced ps plus tier aswell as the gsmes each month to keep forever as long as you are subscribed- also ps plus edsential is cheaper than games pass core. This is inline with the pricing of ps plus extras price, essential is 3 quid cheaper and premium is cheaper than gsmes pass ultimate by about the same amount.

It matters how the deal effects Sony because they are microsofts main competitor and they have tens of millions of customers who may now be at a disadvantage or find gsmes don't launch that they woukd have expected to launch on their console. The judge also made the remark "doesn't everyone own a pc wirth 1.5k or more that can therefore play videogames"? Well that should say it all imo.
This "hey I saved a tonne of money" attitude is dangerous though cos those games still cost as much to make, they still need that investment. They just now bring in much smaller or no return. That will have an impact on their budgets and thus the quality of the games and the nunber of developers who will have jobs working on stuff.
