People who use pawn shops having been dealing with this for ages, it was really only a matter of time before it came to Gamestop due to their trade-ins. Electronics are a common stolen item and its clear this Sherriff's department is trying to fight that and prevent those thefts by making it hard to trade in stolen property, the end result is clearly an attempt to decrease thefts of games and what not for everyone.

Yeah no joke. This is worse then a normal game release, that is on time, announcing they have DLC before its even out. How about they throw it in the game now since its taking them so long to even get the game out.
I really, really hope gamers/consumers make Activision pay for this move. I don't think it'll happen as I have little faith in the intelligent decisions of consumers as a whole but I really do hope we make them pay for this decision.

No and no. I'm not paying for this crap that is already free in other games and community members have done for years for free. Really, pay for detailed weapon statistics? Really? Video's on how to improve? Really? How bout I just use the already basic and just fine weapon statistics that come with games and read the countless free tips, forums, and user blogs around the net with how to improve my game.

This is such trash. Offering private clan support for a fee when every other game does it free. Oh we'll offer you weapon stats when.... every game does it free.... Keep your game Activision. I'll stick with any other title that doesn't charge me for crap that should be free.
I don't see it really enhancing anything. The servers will lag, the stats will be lagged, and you would essentially be paying for stuff that users have been doing on their on through various gaming sites for a long... long time.
Kind of an ironic statement really considering Zipper supported MAG better than they did the other Socom games. Also considering the fact that the MAG that exists now is almost completely different than the BETA says a LOT about how much work Zipper put into the changes in the game. I'd say Zipper did an amazing job with MAG and supporting it.
I also think its a bit to early to announce anything about MAG 2 considering S4 just got released.

I'm not saying it doesn't, but until they find a middle ground its hard to completely hate it. I dislike it, because I to am a legit gamer, but at the same time I appreciate attempts to slow or try and stop piracy, and just flat out theft, which is what they are trying to prevent with this policy.
I don't think its great clearly but I understand the goal.
