As much as I agree that you typically get what you pay for, you also pay for the brand. To deny that a portion of Apple's higher prices aren't brand loyalty would be silly.

Lotta games could be great movies if they got the proper treatment instead of the "lets make a quick buck" treatment. Way to many "so much potential" titles to even begin to make a list.
As much as I agree PC will own any console in terms of overall performance I can't play God of War 3 on PC or the new Twisted Metal or MGS4 etc etc. Hence the reason I have a PC and a PS3.
Maybe they need to stop trying to push out games so quick and go back to having real beta's instead of glorified demo's. Then they wouldn't have to worry so much about a $40,000.00 bill to fix something that could have been fixed before hand.

I'm glad patches are expensive. If there wasn't a negative to patching I guarantee there wouldn't be anything stopping publishers like EA from putting out utter crap for $60 and clearly telling you they'll "fix it later".
That $40k is atleast some buffer to a publisher that says if your game is absolutely broken on launch then you shouldn't have put it out yet anyway, and your gonna pay for that.

I want this system pretty bad. Still undecided if I should get the launch bundle for $299 or just stick with the wifi one. I know I'll never pay to use the 3G so not sure if its worth the extra cost or not.
That and I'm paranoid that Sony won't truly use the remote play feature, just like they failed to do with the PSP, and that is a big reason for my purchase.

The patch on the 6th was for mics only.
The VOIP issue is fixed. Played twice today and its been awesome being able to actually communicate enemy positions and other tactical plans.
My only reservation is how limited is the remote play going to be. The potential was there with the PSP and we only saw it for a few select games, like Lair. They've showed it off with a couple games for the VITA but is it gonna be DOA after that?

We gamers brought his on ourselves. No one likes Origin but obviously a crap load of people used it to play BF3 anyway. Would have been the perfect opportunity to show EA where they could put their new project.
I'd have been fine with it if I could have played it on either Origin or Steam, but noooo gotta be Origin or nothing.
Won't matter, this debate will continue the day they are released, probably before. The hardware used in either device will already be outdated by the time the product hits the shelves.
I'm not knocking the console makers, I'm knocking the "gaming media" and elitists who will be the ones nitpicking. Until the new consoles are released I'll do what a gamer does and enjoy every good game I can.
I'm fine with that last part as long as there's some level of "clan" feature to the PS3 Dust 514. My understanding is like it will be somewhat like MAG where there were 3 factions who battled over contracts. Winning meant you defended on your map more.

Liked reading about this but I'm probably not going to bother even trying to get into Eve Online at this point, its just been out for so long.
That being said I'm extremely excited about the stuff I've read about its counterpart on the PS3 - Dust 514 and the implications the worlds will have on each other.... that is if it turns out like they want.
Either way, Dust 514 is definately on my radar.
Nice article and I agree, its a shame. I understand the idea behind it but I don't agree with the abuse of it as you refer to in the article. The idea that I can't upgrade my computer without it seeing it as a system change is pure insanity.
But, we'll continue to see this and it will only get worse the longer gamers continue to purchase games that do this. EA will put more games on Origin because gamers "had" to play BF3 on their pc's and EA banked ...
Sold my Turtle Beach PX21's and bought these a couple months ago. Wish I would have made that choice A LONG TIME AGO. Highly recommend this Sony headset, its amazing!
