Research done by other tehc companies that they bough the right to use the tech cheap.....see if in a few years someone not gonna sue them and try to get a bigger check on the tech they'll be using on this.
Thats Nintendo since, well, forever.....they will do their best to sell overpriced (if relatively new/cheap tech) and make tons of money on the casuals/fanatics out there....its nothin new.
WHile I do agree that you have the right to do whatever you want with your PS3 unit (going from doing naughty to stupid things with a shell of plastic...) you dont have the right to screw with the game developers that spend months-years doing research and such on it.Want to run Linux on it? have fun. Make it easy to a bunch of SOBs to exploit it in a way that will facilitate to these bastards to rob peoples info/credit cards and such? You're fucked....
Sony is already making money on hardware units sold, the thing is, its not that much (problably 5-10 USD per console...at most). Sony looses money when the software, where moeny really is, is not bough, but downloaded without being paid...exactly what our dear stupid hackers say they dont want to do, but allow to do......
And thats not counting the investment that all those companies will be making to build/repair their buildings and such again...the whole country and companies will have invest billions to bring the society back to its feet...the next couple of years gonna be quite difficult on the country's economy and hell in the worst affected areas...
It seens lots of options on PS3 vs no options on X360 is being shown....move along nothing of real interest in here....
For perfectionists no amount of time is enough.... people are complaining abou a developer that ACTUALLY cares about its users....this gen is trully fuc** up....
And if Sony didnt launch the PS3 with that high prices, we would, probably, be seeing the new MS console on the market (either out already or to be launched)....
Price, friends have it (and so group influence) and the 'innovativeness' that is Kinect....and other things that also dont matter at all to me.
Nintendo achieved the most important thing this generatyion (as it seens): PRICE. It was the lowest price point at lauunch, so it sold better than anything before. And with it created a facede of 'coolness' that is still out there for the casual, and thats what it keep afloat, even with its decreasing numbers...the kids still want that thing....and is still cheaper than the other , so...
@GameTavern and hudsoniscool
If you think that X360 number is an achievement (pun intented), then the PS3 one is a freaking miracle, since all the media and fanboys have it doomed at launch and so on...standarts kids, keep then clear and absolute.
I think its more as a "Its my turn" kind of thing...all X360 have for a few months now are numbers...and now that things arent going as well as they'd like to think, its the other fanboys time.
But then, before the PS3 no console EVER survived to see such a mark with a initial selling price of 499 and 599 USD....you see a cup half empty, others see a cup half full....
and then again, no console EVER had a failure hate as high as the X360....care to keep going?
PS- the 3 year warranty, as nice as it was, its not that much as a deterrent...we wont ever know how many peope ended up buying a new unit anyway, when covered by that warranty. In the end we...
Thing is, the questions are downright missinformed/under-researched/ completely stupid.
Any one can answer those questions with COMMON SENSE. Or actually read out about the NGP announcement/tech sheat a lot of tech sites are sporting. Hes just being and ass about it.
What do you think the 3DS is???
And the only thing Nintendo got definitely right about what people wants in a console is PRICE. As lowest as possible. The rest is just luck that the sheep keep coming for more of the same or whatever else you want to call.
Welcome to the world of the internet today. Its better to praise the winning team, even if they suck, than the team that is bringing something new and/or better to the table....
Lots of ifs, but if Wii was a failure and the DS was a failure...then things would be the other way around...just like that...s
@scissor_runner
Did I say anywhere that Nintendo is the only one doing it?
Since you cant attack my argument you go for the 'you are hating on Nintendo success' card...
See what you will, but Nintendo dont fool me for more than 15 years, and I had 3 of their systems (NES,SNES and a GBA back in the day).
Im yet to buy any of the HD versions of Sony games (since I still have a PS2 - a launching one to be more specific - and lots...
You dont really understand Nintendo's way of thinking....they will MILK their consoles any way they can...their handhelds....one iteration after another...multiple colors...some dont let you use the cartridges of the others, but some do...same with the games...Pokemon is the same basic thing since the 90's....Mario, Zelda and so on....they will milk it untill they cant anymore, and then (much like MS with the first Xbox) they kill it as fast as possibly to make the new one be bough by...
@WhiteNoise
Its not that PC games have evolve into next gen...its the HARDWARE they're on that have improoved...its old code being run on greater specifics. You dont even need to make the code more efficient that much, just let the brute force of gigs upon gigs and cores and so do the work.
@YodaCracker
what you're calling mommentum is MS desperate attempt to keep X360 afloat after a whole year selling worst than the PS3. Its paying up, but look at wha...
You're forgetting something prety important here....the time it will be released...it will be tomorrow, where the price and tech are somewhat new and not yet refined? or in a few years where the tech on it will be better/refined and the price will be lower? You guys keep trowing numbers or specs without even thinking it through...If you wanna speculate on something that its not even planned to be released yet at least put some effort into it....
