BEing ripped is paying up to 150 USD for a camera thats yet to do what its promissed to do, paying another 60 USD to use online features that others have for free, buyint the same console again and again and yet again, because the company it makes it doesnt care thats it breaking for simply being on for a couple of minutes...and so on...good trolling tough.
even it that happens, either MS will let the game be 4+ DVDs, and SE qill pay up all those copyrights (whatever...) to MS because of it, or MS wont and then SE will have to cut content out of the game...AGAIN.

and as such, have a big fandom following it. The thing is, most of that fandom is on PS3 (try to argue with that...I want to see lots of disagrees when its main game sold 3x times more on that platform) and when it went multiplatform people gone nuts. You can argue as much as you want, but SE had to cut things in the game to make it as iqual as much as it could in both platforms, and it shows that it suffered lots. Guys, thats exactly the target public MS want for Kinect. The ones that could care less about games, but would pay big bucks for something that looks like it works. I hope I bite my tongue about this one, but Kinect is all fail for a hardcore gamer.
And thus, the masses will buy this and the fanboys will go WILD WITH THEIR BRAGGING!
When you shell all those millions of bucks and dont let the target media do its full blow out REVIEW of the hardware, it shows you actual target is the misinformed/not gammer at all people out there that will buy it because it seens interesting thanks to all those same millions of bucks spent on the advertisement, oh, and Oprah too! Now lets be real: it dont really matters. You can multiply the actual sales of the game for the X360 by 1.3 to 1.5 and get the numbers of pirated copies out ther...
It wont 'flop' just because it will sell gazillions. The quality of the games/gameplay though.....by what we've been seen, its a sure 'flop' till now.
But since what matters this gen is numbers, as long as fanboy/media/gamers/companies goes, it will never be a flop, wich in itself is a shame, since MS is showing the others that it can sell smoke and mirrors in the millions to the sheep out there.
there is something called respect, something MS doesnt have for its consumers, but hey! That pesky warranty is still in effect right? Hope so. Man, I still LMAO when I read that it is A-OK to have a brand new hardware, barelly used or not that stressed out device to not work properlly because MS got you back to fix it....something that could been done since the very beggining....and now again in a re-fitted/new model....

my launch PS3 is still working....and some of my friends X360 have RRODed and so on...at least they trew those POS in the garbage bin (figuratively, but they said they'd never buy another one again...ever..).
While really there isnt a 'perfect'/unbreakable conusemer eletronic out there, MS and the shamefull hardware failures rate of the X360 goes beyong anyhing I've ever saw...and this thing is a re-modeled unit, they were supposed to be have solved their rush...
Quality may and will make a game sell. See the new IPs this gen. Only a few suffered low sales (Heanly Sword is an example) while some others succeeded (Infamous and Uncharted ring a bell?) immensely, becoming some of the best IPs ever. Quality will bring quantity, the other way around, unfortunately, is hardly possible since it becomes redundant for some imbeciles(Kotick...Im looking at that uggly mug of yours....).
Fuelling the same game again and again you mean, but to each his own. I agree that commercial successes are needed (and the main aim of the industry of course) but when you disregard quality to achieve the most profit you can, then we as gamers lose in the end.

Wii is hacked by hardware mods? If so, thats easier too keep hacking it, if not, cant think anything about it...unless you put that 'old tech is easier to hack' argument here.
The Wii is a good funny machine but Nintendo wasnt cariing about the games, well, not third party anyway (3rd Party fight against, primaly, Nintendo itself when launching games in their platforms). Since they sell their hardware at a good (if not absurd) profit since launch, its good to keep sel...

GT5 will be something from another world quality wise.
Sony will make mandatory in all games (looks like it already did). In the end its an arms race, with the hackers/pirates running to catch up (strange, since it has been always the contrary...).
this one turn out to be....both you and AKA228 are right about this gen. All 3 have their own part on how the following fans became the whatever they are now. People can complain as much as they want, but right now, Sony is the best gamiong option out there. Once again US pre-orders> world argument.....your post would problably right, if you said ONLY in US, shooter land. GT5 will have legs, something MS exclusive games seens to not have at all, but lets keep in the near future: EU and Japan will eat GT5 (even if EU will buy large quantities of CoD and MoH) like nothing before.

I would go as far as saying that if Kinect was cheaper, it would be a clone launching there as well. Same demographic, but too pricy.
In the end it will be the same thing as the Wii, a success, but at what cost for the harcore gamers?
